I am very happy that I chose U Tri Bubnu, it was exactly as expected and it is a fair hotel for the price we paid, very picturesque and special and which has an unbeatable feature: the location in the heart of the old quarter, 2 minutes Staroměstské náměstí - Old Town Square and from the more than 600-year-old astronomical clock (the third oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest still in operation). The building is very old, but exactly this medieval air in the heart of the old town we wanted to have in Prague, where we occupied an unexpectedly generous room for such an old building, bearing the imprint of time with a very high ceiling, old beams painted on the ceiling, generous double bed made of wrought iron with canopy, dark furniture and dark curtains, which remind you of the times when the rooms were lit with a lamp and heated with a woodstove. Yet a bit noisy, because of the restaurant Pivnice U Kata from the building next to the ground floor, on whose terrace beer is consumed until late at night (which might be an advantage you would say ), but fortunately they closed around 22:30-23:00, leaving us to sleep… plus that, especially early in the morning, the garbage is raised with great agitation and noise exactly in front of the hotel, so that you can really “understand” why the hotel is called U Tri Bubnu = “To the 3 drums” ! Otherwise, I have to say that our room was huge, very warm and had two rows of windows, between which is a fortress wall, about 30cm wide, which are quite good insulators, both thermal and for the street noise and finally we did not felt like we were sleeping on the terrace of the restaurant Pivnice U Kata. Also the bathroom was also very big, having both bathtub and shower cabin and the warm water was not warm, but hot, you could boil eggs in it! All in all a hotel with a great location, in a historical building, with good conditions and a very good report price:quality, fair conditions and combinig modernism with the time patina.…
