I staid with a friend at The Mad house. Not only the location is central but they organize events on evenings with the whole hostel and damned those were fun and diversified ! They also have good tips on places to visit because one would want to visit this amazing city ! A excellent hostel for those who like to...

Okay so this is the best hostel in Europe and a must if you stay in Prague! The staff are legends and the parties during the night made my experience in Prague the best! They make you feel apart of a family and was amazing meeting all the travellers there, most of them being solo travellers! MISS YOU CRAIG AND...

Was recommended this place after a trip to krakow in Poland and I wasn't disappointed. Welcomed at the door with a beer and a lively atmosphere. Checked me in straight away and gave me a quick guide to what to see in Prague. Rooms were spacious and clean. Always something on every night and the lads and girls will bring...

Spent four nights at the MadHouse and had a wonderful time enjoying Prague with other solo travellers, small groups and the lovely staff. The hostel is super welcoming and comfortable, the dinners are amazing (thanks Noah for freshly made naan at 1am?!) and the location is great. Definitely recommend to other solo travellers who are looking to meet nice people...

I only say this because you arrive solo and leave with a new family, I met so many amazing people here, both as guests and staff. I was skeptical at first of how positive the reviews were but after staying here, I totally understand where everyone is coming from. It's the most warm and inviting place I've ever stayed and...

Wow! Thank you so much for the extremely thoughtful review. Hearing (er..reading) it reminds us all of why we love doing what we do so much. We're so glad that we made you feel as welcome as you did - and just so you know, we think of ourselves as a (weird...dysfunctional...awesome) family as well and are ecstatic to have...

Spent almost a month backpacking through western and central Europe. The MadHouse was by far my favorite place. Extremely welcoming, home cooked meals, cheap beer and great people! I wish I could live there.

Madhouse is a ton of fun! Great place to stay if you want to party, but come back to a comfortable hostel and still experience the less crazy side of Prague during the day. It seems to attract a lot of top notch people as well. New Year's Eve with Madhouse was the best one I've had thus far, thanks...

Thanks Sonya - we do seem to attract some top-notch people, just like yourself :) New Year's is a great time to see Prague at it's best: fireworks, champagne, dancing til the sun comes up, etc. etc. etc... We'd also be silly not to encourage our guests to go out and see beautiful Prague in the daylight as well. Although...

All the staff were really friendly and made everyone feel included. They felt more like good friends from the get go. The place is kept clean, the rooms are fantastic in terms of the art. Good beds, enough storage space. Really felt safe here as well. Best part was the organised activities and nights out. Really enjoyed watching ice hockey...

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a kind and thoughtful review. We are always happy to show guests the awesomeness of ice hockey, especially in a country where the tickets (not to mention the beer inside!) won't break the bank. And, well, we look for any excuse to dress up in pretty much anything...and we're glad you had...

Thanks so much for the wonderful words! It's our not-so-secret plan to give all our guests such a good time that they never leave. Muahaha. Next time we'll aim for 2 weeks, yeah?

I stayed here 3 nights travelling solo, and enjoyed every minute. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable, while the common area is cosy and social. All the staff were very friendly and made the effort to make you feel at home. They also run great events every night, but if you're not up for a party there's a...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
