This hotel is one of the prettiest I've seen. The room is wonderful, spacious, nicely decorated as all the hotel. The area is nice and quiet. And it offers many opportunities what to do without even leaving the hotel. Highly recommended.

This is the most fantastic hotel I have ever stayed in. Our room was beautiful and the level of detail superb. The staff are amazing and look after you from the moment you arrive until you leave. In fact the staff looked after us all day even after we had checked out. The restaurant is great and I can recommend... More

The Alchymist was a wonderful hotel in all regards. First, it is located about 30 feet from the U.S. Embassy in a very quiet street. It is probably 300 meters from the Charles Bridge and less than 1/2 mile from Prague Castle (two of the most popular sites in Prague), thus it is one of the best located hotels in... More

Old world charm in this palace like hotel with gorgeous rooms, decor and surroundings. We felt as we were transported in time to the charms of 19th century. Great location, with a walking distance to all major attractions. Outstanding service and friendly staff topped our experience. A must place to stay in Prague.

Beautiful hotel loaded with old world charm on the quiet side of town. Great location near the US Embassy and around the corner from St. Nicholas Church, a short walk from the Charles Bridge. I've stayed in three 5-star hotels in Prague, but I will never again stay anywhere but the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa. I loved everything from... More

Our second trip to Prague and we decided to stay in the quieter side of the river, and we've found our go to location. As you can tell from the photos, it has a classic European elegance style and the rooms are large and very comfortable. Breakfast is included and served every morning - and the selection and presentation is... More

First and foremost this Hotel is quaint and spectacular. The food is great in the restaurant. the courtyard music and night was awesome. The breakfast buffet is second to none. The area the hotel resides in is a quite, safe and super convenient to the old downtown with a 2 block walk that ends with walking across the Charles bridge... More

The most wonderful gift a hotel can grant to its guests is to welcome them back as cherished friends and not only like another bookers. It's been our second time here and the staff showed us the highest level of service as usual, answered every of my questions and greeted us dearly. We were truly happy to once again meet Peter... I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous and the service is impeccable. The breakfast was amazing...huge and wonderful selection. And the afternoon wine and cheese, a really nice touch. I also met some really lovely hotel guests at wine and cheese, which made my stay even nicer. I also enjoyed the spa very much.... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
