Dating back to 1518 this hotel is historic, romantic, in a great location and houses a good spa. The hotel is located close to the American Embassy a short walk to the Castle, Charles Bridge and Kampa Park. A perfect location. The Old Town is a 15min leisurely walk away. The hotel feels luxurious with its gold and red decor....

This really was a hidden jewel the decor was unusually fantastic, visit for a drink in the bar or a coffee just to see what i mean, well worth the trip. Our room overlooked an internal court yard area and was very pleasant. We used the coffee shop at the front of the hotel and enjoyed some very special treats...

We chose the Alchymist for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did! We stayed for a week. I'll split this into sections: Location: brilliant location. Just round the corner from Charles Bridge near the castle. It's easy to walk everywhere from it. This is our favourite side of the river as it's generally quieter in the evening and...

We chose the Hotel because of its location and trip advisor ratings. We own two boutique hotels in Colorado. It was the perfect location for us and the Hotel has the perfect concierge services. Cabs are very reasonable and the Hotels recommendation of AAA cab was best. It was in simple terms - Wonderful

As the title of my review suggests, you can relax knowing your hours of pouring over the different options for a hotel in Prague is over. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we felt we were being invited into a family home that offered outstanding hospitality. We were shown through to the fabulous Rocco...

This hotel is one of the prettiest I've seen. The room is wonderful, spacious, nicely decorated as all the hotel. The area is nice and quiet. And it offers many opportunities what to do without even leaving the hotel. Highly recommended.

This is the most fantastic hotel I have ever stayed in. Our room was beautiful and the level of detail superb. The staff are amazing and look after you from the moment you arrive until you leave. In fact the staff looked after us all day even after we had checked out. The restaurant is great and I can recommend...

The Alchymist was a wonderful hotel in all regards. First, it is located about 30 feet from the U.S. Embassy in a very quiet street. It is probably 300 meters from the Charles Bridge and less than 1/2 mile from Prague Castle (two of the most popular sites in Prague), thus it is one of the best located hotels in...

Old world charm in this palace like hotel with gorgeous rooms, decor and surroundings. We felt as we were transported in time to the charms of 19th century. Great location, with a walking distance to all major attractions. Outstanding service and friendly staff topped our experience. A must place to stay in Prague.

Beautiful hotel loaded with old world charm on the quiet side of town. Great location near the US Embassy and around the corner from St. Nicholas Church, a short walk from the Charles Bridge. I've stayed in three 5-star hotels in Prague, but I will never again stay anywhere but the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa. I loved everything from...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
