Just back from a 3 night stay at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa. Met at the airport by a driver from the Hotel who whisked us to the hotel and check in was swift and welcoming. The hotel is tucked up a quiet street next to the US Embassy and there were prominent police patrols. We had a junior...

One of the most romantic and luxurious Hotels! Staff Were exceedingly helpful and friendly, rooms very comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the location was great! far enough to escape the huge crowds. Excelent value for money! Great spa center...intimate, romantic, professional masters(thai). The breakfast was nice+ wine digustation every day) The room could be more spacey (it was deluxe)...with a...

If you want to stay at a hotel that is so nice that you don’t feel bad about not doing any sightseeing – The Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa is a perfect choice. If you, as us, are not used to a “5-star-hotel”- kind of luxury, we will recommend thinking of the hotel as a sightseeing attraction: Get a Balinese...

The Alchymist Hotel was perfect from arrival to departure. The staff were friendly and helpful, the ambiance of the many rooms in the reception area was intimate, and the room was large, beautifully furnished and quiet. The decor was not for those who would prefer a minimalist style, but it suited the hotel and captured the essence of Prague for...

This is a lovely gem in the lively neighborhood of Mala Strana, a perfect location for exploring the city on foot. The rooms and many public spaces are grandly appointed, interesting and romantic. Service is impeccable; guests are made to feel like royalty. The daily complimentary wine hour is a plus! This is also one of the few hotels with...

This is the most romantic and luxurious Hotel we have ever stayed. Perfect in every way. We strongly recommend the Spa and the restaurant. Located in the Lesser Town you take a 5 minutes walk to get to the castle or 10 minutes to get to the city centre. It was a wonderfull experience!

I've stayed at the Alchymist 3 times, but this is the 1st review (not sure why though). I've been coming to Prague for 10 years now and have stayed in a number of hotels. The Alchymist provides the most enjoyable and romantic stay you could hope for. The check-in process (can't start much earlier than that) is lovely and the...

The Alchymist hotel in Prague was perfect for our trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel and room were beautiful, the location was quiet but central (5 minutes walk to the Castle or Charles Bridge) and the staff could not have been more helpful and attentive. If you are ever in need of "brownie points" (or would like to...

We had a wonderful stay here in this eccentric hotel a short walk from both Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. The service is excellent, the decor both splendid and pleasingly shocking, and the room was very comfortable. We used the Spa and it was a fantastic experience, very well designed and atmospheric. There were some nice touches in the...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
