The Hotel Antik is in a perfect location, only a few minutes walk from Old Town Square, but in the opposite direction to Charles Bridge, so you are away from the hoards of tourists. It is spotlessly clean, the bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully appointed and the breakfast room is lovely. There is a good choice for breakfast, and it...

Hotel Antik City has an excellent location, just a few blocks from the big square in the Old Town. But it is located on a small street so it is relative quiet at night. We had a room facing the street, but I was only bothered by the garbage trucks in the morning. Besides that, it was quiet. Many great...

You should be aware that this in NOT the Antik Hotel, it is the Antik City Hotel!! The location is close to Wenceslas Square, about a 10 to 15 minute walk, and another 20 minutes or so walk to Old Town Square. Wencelas Square has the reputation of being a seedy area. We found it very busy, packed with young...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.

“We were in Rm 101, just near the lift. Noisy and concern about street access throught he window (esp. as this is in the redlight/gambling district & we'd seen a coroner's car bagging a body on our 20 minute walk from the bus station. Room is MINISCULE ... 'Circus Circus' or Etap rooms were as big or bigger!?! Pictures in their brochures indicate glamorous 'digs', ours obviously hadn't seen any such 'upgrading'.”
