We were recommended this place by our Segway tour guide. It was busy when we arrived approx 7.30 but we managed to bag a table. The waitress was friendly and prompt in taking our drinks order. My husbands beer arrived almost immediately but my raspberry soda took a little while to appear. After going though the menu we decided on...

We really enjoyed to stay at this informal place with a perfect location very close to the Charles Bridge. Breakfast was nice with bread, ham and jelly and some choice of warm dishes. The Hotel had their own pub beer brewery which was very popular among the locals. Good beds and a fine clean bathroom. It never bothered us but...

We had the pleasure of staying at the Lokal Inn for three nights in June. Location wise it can't be beat, as it is at the base of the Charles Bridge. We had read that the restaurant was good, which it was, and the beer supposedly the best in Prague, which it also was. The rooms are huge and the...

It was nice to get away from the business type hotels I usually book when on my travels. The lokal inn has a character all of its own. It's has a rustic feel to it but it's very clean and the bed and the pillows in our room were the comfiest ive ever known. Also, the staff there are very...

This is a great local hotel. Very clean and filled with old charm. There is no air conditioning, so you have to leave windows open and the strong smell of cooking from the restaurant below may be overwhelming at times, especially in the early morning hours. We also did not have WiFi in our room although it looked like this...

Stayed for a long weekend in Prague and was happily surprised w this hotel. It's on the less busy side of town so there were not crowds of tourists around constantly. The beds were probably the best beds I have ever slept in and the shower was great. Cool room and the first floor was a really popular restaurant /bar...

Definitely worth a visit for traditional food and beer. We had a good lunch. Service friendly. Food tasty and cheap especially for this area. Go for the sausage selection as home made. Good place for lunch very close to Charles Bridge. Can cater large groups.

Excellent place to stay! I brought my family; we were very comfortable in the room. First, the inn is very well located, just steps from the end of the Charles Bridge. The rooms are spacious, and located above the Lokal restaurant below. We arrived well before advertised check in time, and the staff took care of us right away, as...

You really can't go wrong with a hotel that serves the best beer in the world in its basement. On top of it, the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The reception staff was also very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay hassle free - not always easy with a 1.5 year old....

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
