Ah, I'm almost reluctant to put up a five star review because then more people will know about this wonderful little treasure of a hotel, but the staff were so lovely to me that I decided that I had to put my selfishness aside and...More
This is a beautiful hotel with sensible prices right at the centre of historical Prague. I cannot imagine a better location for visitors. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. In particular, Premysl at the reception improved our enjoyment of...More
I had 24 hours to make the most of Prague, prior to travelling to a wedding in the north of the country. Wanting to make the most of my time, I asked Gabriela at Reception for ideas based on her local knowledge. Not only did...More

One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the
modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.

I found my reviews: Restaurant Achat is about a block from The Red Chair on the same side of the street walking toward the clock. The food was good, especially the garlic soup. The Restaurant at Golden Scissors is just across the bridge and the food there is excellent. We ate at the Restaurant Hotel U Prince one night just because all the restaurants had a long wait time, and we had 3 hungry children with us. I wasn't impressed with the food, but at least we were able to sit down and rest after a long day of walking. The worst food we had during the 3 weeks we were in Europe was at Certovka. It's across the bridge from the hotel and has a unique narros walkway down the steps to it. The view is fabulous, but the food was awful. They also charge for the bread they place on your table. This is common in a lot of the restaurants, so if you don't really want the bread, AND you don't want to pay for it, ask to have it removed. Hope this helps. There is more detail about these places on my posts. Be sure to visit Saints Cyril and Methodius Church if you're interested in WWII history.
