We travelled to this hotel as part of a Jet2 city break package, and it provided excellent value for money. Whilst we used a pre-booked taxi package I think that we would have used public transport (which seems very straightforward) if we had arrived in Prague at a slightly earlier time. Next time we shall give it a go!

Our room faced the front street and looked over to the Tesco supermarket. We noticed late night noise as the clubs closed, and heard the bin lorries and street cleaning vehicles in the early mornings. We wished we had asked for a rear facing room, and the hotel seemed quiet enough to have been able to have moved us.

Breakfasts were more than adequate, and catered for all sorts of tastes. Soup for breakfast felt unusual but it tasted really nice. We were disappointed with the coffee on offer, but it made our mid morning cuppa taste even nicer! The bread was delicious.

Our room was perfectly fine for a 4 night stay, and it was kept very clean.

If I was going to criticise this hotel it would be:

1. Throw away the pillows, and replace them with new ones. They are totally worn out and offer no support.

2. Ask the member of staff who stands in front of the entrance and smokes, to step away from the doors, as the smell of smoke pervades the reception area at times.

Would highly recommend this hotel as it’s location being in the centre of the city within walking distance of all the local attractions and restaurants gave great flexibility for our trip. Rooms are clean with mini safes and we had no problems for the 3 days that we stayed. Had a room on the top floor with a large window overlooking Tesco’s so not a city view.
Plenty for breakfast, which was included in the price of the trip, same items everyday but of a good quality and selection. Never a problem getting a table.
Able to keep luggage in the hotel after booking out for 25 crowns per case. WiFi worked well and overall a great choice for a short stay.

For two students I’d say it was ideal for what we wanted, great location for the old square and good bars around. We booked as part of a jet 2 package and it was a bargain. We easily navigated from the airport using public transport, we arrived early as they gave us our room at no extra cost which was ideal, only slight downside was the tax which you paid per night, which given it was a package holiday I personally think should’ve been mentioned.
We were at the front of the hotel overlooking Tesco, meaning if we opened the curtains everyone could see as we were on the 1st floor, also the room was hot so opened window at some times which was loud. Was woken one morning by bin lorries and people chattering outside but not a massive issue, as I think you’d have this issue in several other hotels, maybe ask for a rear room or a higher floor to combat this issue
Breakfast was pretty standard good that it was included
Good view from rooftop terrace

Dear, thank you for taking the time and writing a review of your stay at Design hotel Metropol. I am glad to read that you were satisfied with our services and that our staff was friendly and helpful. Regarding the tax it is a mandatory city fee that is pid everywhere in Europe. I am sorry thaht your company did not mentioned to you that it is not included in your package, however, we as a hotel cannot control what information the company gives you. Hope to see you soon again at Design hotel Metropol. Best regards

Booked mainly due to closeness of friends traveling with us, very pleased with central location and pretty much close to all major tourist highlights. The hotel was quite quirky with restaurant area feeling like a central cafe, breakfast was very good as an added extra. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean perhaps in need of a little updating but the good location and breakfast more than made up for the tired decor. We were also pleased with how quiet the room was being in a busy part of town.

Short 2 night stay .. Prague is a total WOW !! A must visit. Hotel was very clean; breakfast was great with lots of choice & more than substantial. The room itself was a lot smaller than expected, but adequate. Our room was really cold (think the heating a/c unit wasn’t working properly) .... told the staff on reception & when we arrived back from a meal out, they had provided a portable blowy heater in our room & it was lovely & toasty warm which was much appreciated. Brilliant location & within a short walking distance to all local attractions. We had a very enjoyable stay .... the only downside - LOSE the “escape room” style decor!! Its not cool or trendy !! A real shame as it spoilt a really great hotel ....

We stayed for four days and three nights, the staff were friendly our room was always kept clean.
Fab location with everything within reasonable walking distance!
I would definitely recommend asking for a room to the rear of the building as you’ll get views toward Old Town otherwise your facing shop fronts. Ideally you want to be in room 5, 6, 7 or 8 on floor six upwards to benefit from the wall sized window.
The only thing we were disappointed with was that the terrace was technically “closed”, you could access it but there were no lights on or chairs so pretty pointless.

Given the price we paid we were really happy with our stay at this hotel. The rooms are basic but very clean, and the breakfast included offers good hot / cold choices. The hotel itself is within walking distance of all the main attractions and squares, and also opposite a large Tesco which is handy. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a weekend break in Prague!

Stayed here just before Christmas, check-in was very straight forward. The room was perfect for us, really clean and beds were super comfy. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. The location was also perfect, walking distance to tourist attractions and a Tesco directly across the road which we found useful. Will definitely stay here again when I next visit Prague, such good value for money. Couldn't fault it!

Stayed here as a solo female traveller. Easy check in. Room is small and extremely basic but the bed was comfy and the shower was excellent, so powerful, however the bathroom floods so I would advise to put a towel on the floor to soak it up. TV has 2 English channels. Tea and coffee making facilities. Fridge and a safe. The only thing I could criticise is there is no mirror next to a plug so if you use any hair tools you are out of luck. Hairdryer in the bathroom but it’s a hold the button type and not powerful at all. I took my Dyson hairdryer and the electric kept tripping when I tried to use it. My room had a view of a wall but I wasn’t bothered. Now location, this could not have been any better! Right in the centre for the main square, 10-15 min walk to the old town. I had breakfast included but when I came down on the first day they were extremely unhelpful and just left me sat despite me asking a couple of times for the hot meal option so I just took a cuppa back to my room and went out for breakfast. Staff don’t really speak or greet you anytime leaving or entering. If you aren’t fussed about having a flash room and just want to be central then this is the place to stay.

Me and my daughter stayed here from Monday to Friday and our room was on fourth floor. It faced onto a brick wall but this was fine as we only slept there and explored Prague by day and night. Breakfast was good and wide range of food for all tastes. Reception staff friendly. We did have drinks in the cafe and also went up to the rooftop accessed via lift to floor 8 and then one flight of stairs.

The hotel room was very hot and we did have to open the electric switch operated windows. It was minus 2 outside but after suffering with the heat the first night had no choice. We switched off the air con but the room attendant would switch back on each day. Only advice is don’t take thick pjs as you won’t need them.

All in all a nice stay and great location for getting out and about. We took bus and metro from airport and there are 2 metro stops close by giving access to line A and B.
