The hotel is a good 15 minute walk to the Old Town. You can take a couple of different routes to the Old Town so this will vary the scenery. The hotel is a standard Ibis. The bed was comfortable, bathroom suitable and overall a great base. It us lacking in storage space but this didn't cause us any great...

We went with my friends in Prague for our winter holidays for a week. We chose the modern Hotel Ibis Wenceslas Square 3 *. Ibis, as far as I know - it is a network of comfortable and cheap hotels, I stayed there several times in other European cities. Hotel is new; it is not far from the heart of...

My husband and I travelled to Europe for 2 weeks with our best friend and were part of a Contiki tour. We stayed here for 2 nights. The location was great, about a 5 minute walk to Wenceslas Square and a 10 minute walk to Old Town. Prague is truly a beautiful town! The rooms were pretty standard, a smaller...

I have stayed many times at this hotel and it is always good. But this time I found that they must have employed new cleaning staff on the 5th floor who were incredibly noisy. From early in the morning they were shouting along the corridoor, talking loudly on mobile phones and slamming doors. It was impossible to have a lie...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
