The a&o Prague Rhea is recognized for offering a balance of private and social spaces with entertainment options in a convenient locale, though guests suggest some amenities could be enhanced. While the hotel's cleanliness receives compliments, especially in private rooms and bathrooms, the communal areas and laundry services occasionally fall short. Room comfort is marred by noise and privacy concerns, and service experiences vary, ranging from friendly to disappointing.
The hotel's atmosphere is lively, but can be overly noisy for some. Its location is deemed slightly remote, yet accessible to the city center, and opinions on value diverge, with some guests finding it reasonable and others questioning additional costs.

Detailed Reviews
Positives:
Good sized room with good bathroom. Water pressure on the shower was very good. We booked a 4 bed room and there was enough space to move around and store our stuff comfortably. Room also had a TV with a lot of channels but mostly in German.
Facilities were good in the hostel with a good breakfast buffet and a lot of space in the common area. There were events downstairs almost every night like karaoke and quizzes. The hostel has a guest kitchen and laundry.
Location wise the hostel is a bit out of Central Prague, however it is a 30 minute trip into old town or new town by bus or tram, located on the road directly outside the hostel, which was very convenient
Negatives:
The room was extremely hot at all hours of the day, with poor ventilation other than the windows. In winter this is probably great but make sure you bring an electric fan to cool while sleeping in summer months otherwise it will be unbearable. There was also very few working usb ports for charging, and our room only had 2 plug sockets to share between 4 people. You likely should bring an extention cord.
The building is 21 floors and only has 3 very small elevators, which at busy times takes absolutely forever to come.
The facilities provided by the hostel other than breakfast are extremely limited. The laundry only has 3 washers and dryers, for 21 floors of guests. They do have a queueing app system, but even then I was waiting hours for an available machine. Additionally the kitchen is very small and there is limited fridge space, only 1 microwave and kettle.
Overall the hostel is great for what it is priced and it's location.

The breakfast was very good and the staff was very polite and helpful. We were only missing air conditioning, as it was very hot in our room and due to very high floor, the windows could not be opened totally- which we understood in a way too. So other then that, we liked that the room was simple, there was immediately warm water in the shower and as I mentioned, breakfast was very good too.

please fix the elevator!
Our room was on 13th floor. After call the elevator arrived within minutes BUT it went everywhere. We went down 2 floors, then again 3 floors and from there it went up the 19th floor, then to the 20nd floor, then started finally coming down, but went straight to -1 floor, and at the end went up the ground floor. It happend EVERY time during our stay : in the mornings and evenings.
It should be working like that at all. We with other guest were laughing at the end, it does not good for the reputation of the hostel.
Otherweise we had good time! The staff was superb, helpful , friendly!
The room is a bit small, basic, but good quality. Some shelves would have been good if we had had.
Since we had no space to put our clothes, additional hangers would have been good. i.e. inside the bathroom door could be installed some hangers for the towels and clothes.
Otherwise , the hotel was superb! We would gladly recommend it to others! :)

The staff was great as usual (special thanks to Raul and Nicolas), but the overall experience was a disaster. Stayed for a week, and the hotel was full of kids who were extremely noisy at all times. The silence time was not respected at all, and you could hear slamming doors, parties (inside and outside the building), screams, music, everything at any time from early night to early morning, a total nightmare.
To make it worse, the private room had a door connected to another room, and you guessed it right: no privacy, you can hear everything and some of those feral kids were at the other side too.
The tv signal was poor and not working, it was never fixed either.
The laundromat has been changed too, and although the machines are new now, to set up the app/account you're gonna spend at least 30' of your life.
Not my first time here, but the first time I had such a dreadful experience. It's worth paying a few extra bucks and staying in a central location in a big chain hotel.

The reception works day and night: it was not a problem to check in late at night.
The room was nice, with everything you needed, including shower gel, shampoo, soap, and hairdryer. (As far as I know, it is only available for private rooms). The service was great: we found fresh towels daily. But the room itself was not very clean when we first arrived. The room was equipped with: power sockets near every bed, a night lamp, and a little bed table. The room was not equipped with a drawer, so we didn't have a place to store our clothes.
The hotel is not very far from the city centre: you can get there by transport directly from the A&O, or on foot in 30 minutes. There are several shops in the area. You can buy snacks from there or from the hotel directly.
The room has a beautiful view of Prague, especially at night. Our room was on the 13th floor, in the 21-floor building. There were only four elevators for this building, but we rarely found it a problem. The hotel has its own laundry, but it was out of order during our stay.

The staff was nice, the facilities were amazing. The buffet breakfast was reasonably priced and had a decent variety, something to cater to each and everyone's pallet. Overall I loved my stay and would love to come back and stay with a&o Prague Rhea.

The A&O Prag Rhea hostel is basically a good option. The room rates are reasonable and the view of Prague from the higher floors is fantastic. However, as with other A&O hostels, you need a bit of luck with the respective room. Cons in Prague could be a room right in front of one of the constantly used elevators. I also once had a room where my neighbors' bathroom was only separated by a door. It is possible to change rooms, but comparable rooms are often fully booked.

A pleasant place to sleep, breakfast for this price could be more ofbite (some hot sausages, scrambled eggs were missing) however, something that should be improved is cleanliness. Our room was dirty, with dust everywhere, the bedding was also heavily dusty. In addition, dirty glass and a lot of foreign hair in the bathroom. There is something to improve!

Everything was perfect, except the cleaner during our stay. She came at least 3 times to our room when we were in there, once my partner was completely naked and she came into the room without knocking or even apologising and started cleaning in front of him, while he was covering himself and she asked him for towels whilst he was still covering himself. The second time we were both in the room, the cleaner came again, without asking or apologising whether she could come in. When she saw me she continued while My partner was in the bathroom. She just went into the bathroom knowing there was a person and kept on going. The third time we were both in again, this time we had just given up. We went twice downstairs to the reception and explained what happened, they were understanding however, the cleaner still ignored us and not tried to be polite when she entered the room. I understand the cleaner is doing her job, however, when she rushes into the room, if she could just politely ask whether she can come in instead of making people uneasy when they are naked, it would be completely a different story.

I took a private room and it was okay however, the halls outside the room were dirty. Location is awful, it is super far away from the center of the city and the kitchen can only be used ith reservation one hour a day so, alhotugh the rooms per night are cheap, you'll end up paying more for transport and restaurants... Invest a little bit more in another place to stay if you can, this is nor the best choice.
