Stayed here while it was called the Poet's Corner. It was a lovely little place split over two floors of an apartment building. It's a bit far from the train station, but their instructions to get there via public transport are good, and it's very close to the transit stop. It's close to the sites, a grocery store, and a...

Stayed there for two nights in September and had a great time. The place is located in a sort of apartment and really feels like staying in somebody's home. The staff is really helpful, thought they are not present in the hostel all the time, but that is comprehensive since it's a pretty small place. Olomouc is a nice place...

Staying at this hostel, run by a husband and wife, felt very homey and comfy like staying at someone's home. The dorm room, bathrooms (1 bathroom with toilet, one without and a separate toilet) common room and kitchen were clean and cosy. On the window sill in the kitchen there were even small pots with different cooking herbs as well...

After three nights, I have only good things to say about this place. Rarely have I been made to feel more at home by the staff who did everything from help me with laundry to recommend restaurants and off-the-beaten path attractions. Conveniently located a block from all the major tram stops (except #1) and the supermarket, Poets [formerly Cosy] Corner...

I had a really nice time there but the most value is his owner, Ian, who helped me so much while I was there. The hostel really looks like a former poet house and all the rooms have an amazing view :) I definitely would suggest this hostel!

Hi and thanks for your review and compliments. It was a former poets house! The apartment was known as a meeting place for writers and readers where banned works were orated and discussed during communism! Fascinating stuff. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Best wishes from Ian.

As soon as you walk into poets corner you feel like you're at home. It is a nice old and Ian the owner was so much help. He gives you a hand designed map and tells you everything you need to know. It was fantastic. There is a kitchen and washing service too but this town is much more beautiful...

This is a small, colorfully decorated hostel on the 3rd and 4th floors (walk-up) of a well-located building in the old town center of Olomouc. Our Australian host Ian was very helpful with local information. Our private room on the 3rd floor was spacious and airy, with large windows. We shared a shower room, separate toilet, and kitchen with just...

Poet's Corner was a great choice for budget accommodation in Olomouc. €12 for the night, the beds were comfortable, the hostel offers good facilities and the owner Ian was very friendly and welcoming. He was also very informative about the city and took the time to show us on a map the main sites and good places for food, drink...

Loved the hostel, loved the town. The hostel is like a surreal 1970s apartment, the chairs in the sitting room are the epitomy of kitsch. The owner is a total sweetheart, greeted me with a cup of tea and a chinwag about her children. there is free tea and coffee (fruit tea and real coffee as well!) and the kitchen...

The Poets Corner hostel is definitely the place to stay if you are seeking peace and relaxation. The intimate atmosphere of the hostel was comforting and "home-like" with great wifi, a reading library, hot showers, clean sheets/towels, and a kitchen to use. Additionally, the staff provided a fantastic map of Olomouc and information on touristic sites, restaurants, and pubs. I...

The hostel features mixed dorm rooms for the budget minded traveller as well as spacious and stylish private rooms with some antique furniture. Some of our rooms have a nice view too. The 'heart' of the hostel is the cosy common room complete with armchairs you can sink into, perfect for our guests to gather, make new friends and share travel stories, or just curl up to some good music or a book. We have a book exchange and some boardgames too. Cosy Corner Hostel also has a fully equipped guest kitchen which is a great place to prepare your own meals or enjoy a bit of 'potluck' with your fellow guests. Good teas and coffee are always available. Bathrooms are shared but only a few steps away from any room. There is also a cute little balcony with a gorgeous view of St Wenceslas Cathederal and the hills beyond. Free WI-FI is available throughout the entire hostel. Towels are provided for all private rooms and are free on request for dorm room guests. Smoking is NOT permitted inside the hostel. We allow pets but only for guests staying in private rooms. Please inform us at the time of booking if you have a pet. The hostel also provides LOTS of information about Olomouc and surrounds and all guests are given our customized map of the town to help them get the most out of their stay. We also have a laundry service for guests which is 100 CZK per load but FREE if you stay 3+ nights. We enjoy hosting travellers from all over the world and often socialize with our guests, be that for a meal, coffee, drinks, an ice hockey game in the winter and occasionally on daytrips out of town.
