Just back from a 3 day visit to Krakow and stayed in this hotel. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. Rooms were lovely, staff helpful and a buffet breakfast included. No complaints whatsoever, would stay there again.
We visited Krakow in October and stayed at Hotel Matejko for four nights. The hotel is clean and quiet and has a good breakfast buffet.
It is not luxury but everything is of good standard and just perfect for a nice weekend.
Pretty basic hotel but like most people on a sight seeing holiday I did not spend much time in the room. Continental breakfast but nothing to get excited about. However many cafes and restaurants just a stroll away. Make sure you have earplugs to avoid...More
While the hotel is clean and very close to both the Old Town and Railway station, it does not have all the facilities it claims. The restaurant, such as it is, is only used for continental breakfast nothing else. It's obvious there once was a...More
This fairly large hotel is in a brilliant location for anyone exploring Krakow, it is just around the corner from the main railway station / shopping centre and just a few hundred metres from the Barbican - one of the towers on the old city...More

Hi. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the town square, about 10 to 15 bminutes past the Barbican and along Florianska street. The hotel is located just on the other side of the main road which surrounds the old city and the "park" around the old walls known as the Planty. It is also very close to the new shopping Mall called "Galeria Krakow".
We have been to the Auschwitz/Birkenau site, To be honest, we were so upset by it that we only managed to do the morning visit around the old army baracks which was the original camp. It is a museum and memorial, but it is not a fun day out, so be prepared for the emotions that you will experience when you see the "exhibits" and realise just what happened there. You might find a trip to the Wieliczka salt mines much more rewarding and enjoyable.
