I'd been to Ljubljana before but a few years ago. We were only staying one night so needed somewhere very central to make the most of our short stay. We picked Macek and were not disappointed. We arrived in Ljubljana by train about 10am and took a chance that our rooms might be ready - they were. The rooms are... More

If you look for decent priced room in Ljubljana, you'll probably notice that all reasonable priced rooms are a bit out of the center. In the end the best choice for the three of us, was Macek Rooms as we were looking for a room that can fit three people at once. Location: As i said before, most accomodation seems... More

We arrived early after a night train from Zurich. Fortunately they had no guests staying at the time so our room was available immediately at 8am. We said we were disappearing at 7am the next morning and they said we'd not be able to have breakfast. There wasn't really much flexibility in this, though they did offer a sandwich that... More

We stayed at Macek in the Purple room for 2 nights & we had a great time. You cant find fault with the location - bang in the centre of old Ljubljana, a few minutes walk to the Triple Bridge & Preseren square and within easy walking distance to all other attractions. Right next to the river & with beautiful... More

I stayed in Ljubljana for one night and booked this room quite hastily as I didn't have the time for planning. The place was easy to find and very centrally located. In the sunny afternoon the tables in front of the cafe were full of people sipping their drinks. There are five rooms above the cafe. I stayed in the... More

Wish we had stayed longer than one night! The location is wonderful - right next to the river and a 5-minute walk to the triple bridge, market, etc. The owners were friendly and were great about communicating via email prior to our arrival. We enjoyed having the cafe/bar downstairs for an evening drink. Our room was in the front, directly... More

I was quite worry about booking this hotel as there are limited comments. But then the hotel reception (or bartender ? lol) replies my email quite efficient. Its is really interesting if you check in at night cause it is a bar at night, I literally drug my luggage into a bar and ask for room key. Surprisingly the old... More

Just stayed in the Backpack Gold room with my 4-month-old baby (they nicely gave me a single rate) for 2 nights in Ljubljana. Location is perfect on the river with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Loved having the cafe downstairs for a nightcap or morning coffee. Can be noisy until the cafe closes which could be a problem with... More

Macek Rooms is in a great spot right in the heart of gorgeous Ljubljana and right on the river. It's a short walk to the triple bridge, the castle, the markets and even the train/bus station only takes about 10 minutes. The staff are lovely and the rooms really nicely decorated. It is upstairs from one of the best cafes... More

The apartment we stayed in looked just like the picture. It is an older building that has been renovated, so there are squeaky doors and floors, but it's not too bad. The bathroom was recently renovated and is very modern. The location is amazing with lots of life and energy from the cafes and restaurants below, so it is a... More
