We stayed at the Promenade in late March 2015 for a week as part of a Jet2 package. I emailed them in advance to secure a room upgrade which they did efficiently and courteously. So we had a super large well equipped room on the front overlooking the street - with minimal noise problems. The Hotel was superb with excellent...

We stayed three nights at the Promenade City Hotel, a clean and comfortable little hotel in the heart of the city. The rooms are spacious and quiet, despite its central location. There is only one lift but we didn't experience any long waits. The breakfast restaurant was very small, but no real problem finding a table. Food was mainly continental...

This hotel is perfect for a couple of nights in Budapest. It is on the main shopping street and just a few minutes walk from the metro station. The hotel was very clean and modern and staff extremely friendly. We were only there 4 days but our room was cleaned everyday and towels changed when we wanted them changed. Could...

Great little hotel at the perfect location on Pest side. Right on the shopping street Vaci utca, which means walking distance to most tourist places and location almost right by Danube river! Lots of great restaurants close to the hotel and the staff will recommend some of the nicer ones. Good breakfast, had something for everyone; eggs, bread, yogurt, cereal...

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a cheap weekend away. Our room was beautiful. Lovely view, comfortable bed, clean, modern and quiet. This hotel was on Vaci street which is a busy, central shopping street. Very close to "Hop-on, hop-off" stops (which I would definitely advise visitors to try). The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
