This hotel looks a little spooky, when you enter from a side street, but as soon as you are in one feels that you are very welcome to stay there. Front desk staff very helpful and professional. Breakfast cafeteria very nice, old classic style. In the summer must be a hit in the city. Internet worked fine and the rooms...

Stayed for 4 days over new years. Location was great. Near transportation and very walkable. The hotel has lots of charm. The hotel staff was really nice, but they couldn't provide extra towels or blankets and the room was COLD. Said they just didn't have any - and the linens were super thin to begin with. Had to sleep in...

A wonderful, stylish, small hotel located in the heart of Budapest. Only a few steps away from the main Vaci street, but very quiet and calm. They also have a small restaurant at the ground floor, which is actually very good - don't miss their gulash chorba and pictachio tart with sour cherry! Last but not the least - the...

We are currently staying at this hotel at the end of a four day break. It has a prime location near to many of the main attractions situated in a quiet square. Our room feels very individual and the en suite is very tasteful. Free wireless is very fast. Breakfasts are in the delightful cafe and the freshly baked pastries...

Generously-sized rooms with glamorous furniture and fittings with little balconies overlooking the small square below. Helpful staff and in quiet charming quarter very close to the river and the centre of Pest. Lovely meal in the bistro restaurant - loved the different non-alcoholic cocktails and wonderful menu. All to the accompaniment of a harpist and the canary joining in! Staff...

A small hotel with very good attention to detail, the rooms were beautifully furnished and the minibar (Free!) likewise. Excellent location within walking distance of all the major tourist sights of the city, but off the main road sufficiently to be quiet. Close to the Ferenciek Tere M3 metro station. Although the 12 euro breakfast may seem restrictive, we were...

The Gerloczy is a charming boutique hotel in the center of Budapest that I thoroughly enjoyed staying at for 6 nights in September. The hotel is located on a quiet square within easy walking distance of a Metro station and many sites in central Budapest. The spacious room on the 3rd floor had high ceilings and large windows. The furnishings...

Stayed here for a night before flying home. A friend of mine who is from Budapest recommended that I eat dinner in the cafe and stay here at night for my last night in Hungary, and Gerloczy did not disappoint. Even though they were cheaper, I really enjoyed the look of the attic rooms on their website (exposed beams, elevated...

We stayed in one of the beautiful Attic Rooms and we simply loved staying in the hotel. The breakfast is amazing, the owner is superfriendly and the whole crew made our stay really lovely. We will definitely come back.

Can only agree with previous positive reviews - a hotel brimming with character and vintage charm. Sure, it's clean, comfortable and ticks all the usual boxes (great location near some of the best 'ruin pubs' and spas), but what makes this place so special is the relaxing atmosphere and absolutely outstanding customer service. You will not find more generous, intelligent...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
