The room was nice, with a big balcony, bathroom was new and clean but here were some aspects that didn't make up to my expectations, specially if we are talking about a 4 star. The bed lining was not smooth, felt a bit like sandpaper to be honest. The pillows were low, flat and hard and the soap/shampoo available was...

The smarter choice for staying in the Castle district - a bit removed perhaps from the buzz and glitter of central Pest (though within easy walking distance of it) but really close to the Castle, Fisherman's Wharf, amazing night-time views of the Danube / Parliament / said glitter. It would remind of a modern business hotel were it not for...

Ideal hotel next to Castle District. Breakfast a little bit expensive (10EUR) but excellent (we did used as brunch instead). Walking distance from metro station although was a little bit confusing for the fist time to get there. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Totally recomended!

Stayed in the Castle Garden Hotel for 3 nights in August and everything was excellent. The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff are (as other reviewers have stated) really helpful. The room was excellent. We booked the trip via British Airways so I can't split the cost between the flight and hotel but the overall price was...

Castle Garden Hotel is a very smart hotel on a quiet road just behind the walls of the castle in Buda. The location is excellent, I don't think it could be much better in Buda as it is close to the castle, a short stroll to the Metro and underground. The hotel is very clean and modern, the rooms are...

Great hotel and within walking distance to everything. The hotel is right outside the castle district walls, which makes it within walking distance to everything there, but not too busy or overpriced as restaurants and hotels within the Castle District tend to be. You are also within walking distance to Szell Kalman Ter, which is the metro stop you can...

A decent choice for staying in Buda's Castle district, located just outside the walls, a short stroll to St Matthias Church, Fishermans Wharf and the Palace Museums. There are good restaurants with outside tables in picturesque locations nearby and the area is quiet and safe at night, although not the most exciting. It's about 3000-4000 HUFs (€10-15) in a taxi...

A very good experience. The rooms are of a good size, neat and tidy and in a good state of repair. The A/C is not brilliant but manageable even in the summer heat. Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
