The Lavender Circus is a hostel aimed at couples and small groups of friends. There are no large dorms. This is not a party hostel - it really is more like a hotel. When we were there the place was not too busy but we still met a few people and spent a few late evenings chatting away with other...

This hostel is an amazing, cosy, inspiring place to stay. The decoration, the facilities, the atmosphere, the staff...it's all just perfect. The minute you arrive at their doorstep and take the stairs up, you feel you're heading to a mysterious, exciting place. As soon as you really enter the floor of the hostel you instantly feel at home as the...

We stayed here as a couple and booked a room with private en-suite bathroom. The first thing that appealed to us was the unique character of the place, when we arrived we were not disappointed. Within the first half hour of arriving we felt completely at home with staff and other guests being very welcoming. There were young and older...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Very quirky place that someone has taken real care to get just right. After a slightly over-the-top check-in, we were pleased to see the ensuite room we had was fantastic, lots of fun trinkets decorating the room such as an old typewriter, vinyl records and old fashioned lamps. This is all tied together with beautiful...

The hostel is centrally located but not well signposted from the road. It's also up 3 flights of stairs so poss not great if you have mobility issues. It's just written as lavender on the gate too but relatively easy to find. The hostel itself is very quirky and well decorated. The staff were very friendly and gave us loads...

We stayed for a week with a few friends over Easter holidays. Great location and rooms. We rented the apartment (with it's own kitchen) and another room. Worked great for two couples travelling together. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I actually think it's the best hostel I've ever stayed at :)

The staff is very helpful, gave us a welcome drink and directions to all kinds of good places to have fun and to eat. The hostel is next to the tram and metro. The rooms are very beautiful, feels like home! Loved the time there

Stayed here last week, when we got here it was a shame we were only staying one night. It was a lovely hostel very quirky with lovely helpful staff. We had an apartment which was very comfortable and decorated nicely with paintings on the walls. Old fashioned building with lots of charm. Definitely better than other hostels I have stayed...

A really great hostel that has friendly, helpful staff. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable - with the added draw of a hippie, artistic vibe. It's up a few flights of stairs, so if you're lugging suitcases - it could take you a few trips - but once you're upstairs, you're set! Free tea, wifi + adapters...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
