(I'd like to give the hotel 3.75 stars, but this isn't an option on TripAdvisor!) In Budapest for a quick weekend of touring, I chose Zara over the Sofitel and Intercontinental based on online descriptions. All were priced similarly, boasted they were close to sites and scenery, and were highly rated. Arriving at night, we weren't able to see much...

Dear Bill N, Thank you for taking your time to share your opinion about Continental Hotel Budapest. We appreciate all of your comments, both the positive and the negative ones. I am very happy that you were satisfied with the Galery Cafe and you found your room very clean. One can think that the area is run down, but bear...

Chosen from many options, but we've never regretted. Good room (good extra bed for our small one, by the way), big bathroom. Good underground parking. Opulent buffet breakfast. The hotel is especially good for those who love to move, as it's around 20 min walk to the embankment.

Lovely hotel with helpful staff. We stayed here whilst in Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The hotel arranged for a car to get us to the circuit which going was great. Coming back the driver arranged to meet us but didn't show. We eventually found him but he was picking up someone else so...

In a really good position within easy walking distance of many of the city's highlights, including the Jewish area. The river is also close by. Modern rooms, helpful staff and lovely spa area. Good buffet breakfast although the restaurant can be crowded.

Beautifully decorated, brilliant bar, excellent service and nice location (Ruin bars around the corner!). They didn't have a double room available for the first night of our trip, so they put us in a twin room instead. However they upgraded our room to a deluxe double for the remainder of our stay. The changeover was faultless and caused us no...

Lovely, clean spacious and well equipped room (although I did ask for more hangers, which arrived super fast). Breakfast was very varied, plentiful and enjoyable every day. We had cocktails in the lounge above the lobby one night, and they were incredibly cheap compared with England! The roof top pool is small but delightful. Not many chairs but we usually...

This is a very pleasant hotel. The Reception staff were extremely nice and welcoming. The rooftop pool is fantastic. My only complaint would be having to pay for use of the pool. My partner and I had a pleasant stay here.

Had an incredibly pleasant stay here. Staff were very nice and helpful at all times. The rooftop pool and indoor spa area was amazing, especially given the extreme weather. Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
