The Barceló Budapest garners appreciation for its modern, chic design, with guests enjoying the unique aesthetic touches despite some opinions that the ambiance could be cozier. The hotel's various amenities, including spacious rooms with powerful showers, are noted for their comfort and modernity. Meanwhile, the prime location is a highlight, providing easy access to the city's attractions and public transport. Although the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and contemporary feel, guests have noted some temperature control issues. The staff's friendly and efficient service, including thoughtful personal touches, is often commended, although a few guests experienced slower service at check-in. While the hotel is considered to offer good value by many, some visitors have pointed out the high cost of extras and breakfast.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend on recommendation and it really didn’t disappoint.

The staff were so helpful making our stay one to remember, even before we arrived they answered all our queries and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel arranged our airport transfer as I as we were arriving in the early hours of the morning and we wanted ease of getting to the hotel at such an hour.
They also arranged our visit to The Thermal baths which worked out slightly cheeper and the hotel provided towels for us to use free of charge.

We couldn’t fault it our standard room - it was comfortable and had everything we needed which ment that we could travel light.

The hotel Sky bar was closed due to it being the winter but this is a definite plus to the hotel and we would make use of this in the summer months.

Breakfast is an additional charge - we paid €30 for the two of us per day. There was an excellent selection of food with Gluten free bread options and extra items could be cooked to order. The food was very good quality and good value for money.

Great central location we walked to many of the sites and close to a good selection of bars, restaurants and convenience stores.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Dear Nadene, Thank you for your kind feedback. We are thrilled to hear you had an exceptional stay at Barceló Budapest. We are delighted that you appreciated the attentive service of our team, seamless airport transfer arrangements, and the enjoyable visit to the local thermal baths with the convenience of our provided towels. It's great to know that the comfort of your room met all your needs, allowing for a pleasant travel experience. Furthermore, the variety of culinary options at breakfast, including gluten-free bread, added to the quality of your stay. While our Sky Lounge is not available during the winter season, we are pleased that you found this potential feature appealing for future visits. We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion. Best regards, Áijá Fadel Guest Experience Manager

This hotel is in a great location! In the heart of the Elizabeth District, ruin bars on your doorstep, but that does not disturb your sleep. Close to tram, bus & metro stations & within walking distance of main shopping area. Lots of eateries nearby, convenience shops, Thai massage (you will definitely need this after 3 days of sightseeing - ask reception for recommendations).

After landing at the airport, exit to the left & jump on the E100 Airport shuttle bus, tap your bank card as you get on (approx £5 per person), get off at the 2nd stop, head left, take 1st right & the hotel is approx 80m up that road on the left hand side.

Buy a travel pass, a 72hr one costs around £12 but that gets you on buses, trams & metro, everything is within a couple of metro stops of the hotel - could not be better placed.

Budapest is a beautiful, clean & exceptionally safe city, we stayed 4 days but did not manage to see everything, would highly recommend a "tipsy tour" (great way to meet amazing people from all over the world), sczechni baths, night time river cruise (Budapest is more stunning at night), St Stephens basilica tour (as beautiful inside as outside), castle district tour (not everything is as it seems), Parliament building tour (approx £25 per person, not a very long tour but still very interesting).

Barcelo is the place to stay!

Four night city break staying at the Barceló. Hotel is ideally placed to walk to all the sights and if you are flying in then the express airport bus stop is literally 5 mins walk away. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden - would definitely remind paying the extra for it as it was large enough to sit out and enjoy breakfast or evening drinks. We stayed room only and walked round the corner to Cafe Lisboa for a take out breakfast, and used the ‘Chinese’ shop next door to pick up wine.
All in all a very pleasant stay and I would happily recommend.

The hotel is great. The only fault I could mention is the room we stayed in didn’t have radiators to dry towels on and that’s me really looking for something to ‘moan’ about. The housekeeping staff are very good and replace towels every day if you need them to, so to be honest, the rooms don’t really need radiators.

Location is great, there’s great food and activities within a couple minutes walk. Some stunning restaurants on the exact same street too. The hotel is about 5 minutes tops to the airport shuttle bus (pick up and drop off) and is also well connected to all other transport routes in Budapest. Would highly recommend staying here.

Really good hotel. The location is insane in budapest (i think its the best location you can possibly get in Budapest).
The hotel itself was nice. The staff were very kind and helpful.
The look of the hotel from the outside, and inside the lobby is gorgeous.
Now I’m gonna talk about the things I didn’t really like about the hotel-
1, the room is pretty small:
‏ me and my girlfriend did not enjoyed the fact that the room is kind of connected to the bathroom. It’s not only a privacy situation, But actually, every time that I opened the sink, it .
made a loud noise
2. Cleaning-
The hotel is very clean. it also offer you a cleaning service. But for some reason every time the cleaners cleaned our room, they didn’t throw any garbage, they only replaced our sheets and add more towels. in the last day, it was very disturbing because The garbage just was on the side of the room, and we didn’t know where to put it.

Now for the final test: BREAKFAST
To be honest, first, I wasn’t really expected anything from the breakfast, but it was actually okay. There are very good coffee machines throughout the room, there is also shakshuka, Boiled eggs, and vegetables, also pancakes and some good muffins. Overall a pretty good breakfast.

I also forgot to mention they gave me a birthday cake to the room😅

So overall- really good hotel, good vibes, amazing location and nice breakfast. I would give this hotel a solid 8/10.

Great hotel in a fabulous location in Budapest on the Pest side of the river. Easy to access all of the must see attractions. The shuttle bus from the airport stops about 5 mins away so very easy to navigate. Lovely well maintained hotel. Air con throughout which made it comfortable at all times in the hot weather. Very helpful staff and we were able to book all our trips through the guest service team. They also lend out towels to take to the thermal spa. Staff also sorted out a problem we had with a very noisy guest above our room.
Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice.
Room 422 was big and very spacious with a very large comfortable bed and choice of pillows. This was the larger of their rooms with fridge and tea and coffee facilities. Nice to have robes, slippers and toiletries. Great shower and big towels.
Lovely addition of a sky lounge which was beautiful to see the sun go down and enjoy a cocktail.
A very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, very central to explore Budepest. Staff very helpful and friendly. We upgraded to a room with a balcony. The room was very comfortable and spacious. It is a hotel that is in the center of everything. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It has the sink inside the room and the shower and toilet apart which is very comfortable because you have much more space to leave things. Amenities are a bit of a battle and there is a kettle.
It meets the expectations of a four-star hotel.
The reception staff was very friendly.

The location of the hotel was ideal for our plans: we wanted to stay close to the jewish district ambient but at the same time, having the confort of a good hotel. Our room (superior 2 person room) was great for a couple. Clean, the size of the bed was remarkable and it also had a good tv screen. The shower is also great and as a innovation, the bathroom sink is outside the bathroom itself, and as a part of the room. If you don’t mind that, I find it an advantage, because it can be used while other person is on the shower, so we thought it was very clever. Plus, it was my birthday on the check out day and the day before they left me a cake in my room and a 20% discount to use in their loungebar/rooftop. The staff very nice and we would also like to thank Melissa for her kindness on my birthday.

Overall a nice hotel in a great location, however the floors of our room were very dirty. My wife couldn't stand it and cleaned it herself using one of the bathroom towels. Also, we bought a couple of bottles of wine and asked for some ice to chill it in. Apparently, that was just too much to ask and the request was denied - hard to understand when virtually every Motel 6 has an ice machine where guests can help themselves.
