Maybe it's just me, but I love the location of this hotel up in Buda castle. Loved my two level room with great features (gallery, huge bed & big bathroom), but most of all location. Maybe it's not very convenient if you want to cruise around the city as you need taxi to get there (and be careful as taxi...

Spacious, clean room overlooking the Parliament building. Included breakfast was varied and delicious. Service impeccable. When leaving one morning, the skies looked like they would open momentarily and the concierge gave us an umbrella to use for the day. The hotel is in a great location in the Castle district with great restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel overlooks the Danube and the city. At night the view is terrific with the lights of the city in front of you. Breakfast buffet is included and very nice. Rooms are quiet. If you each lunch in the bar the service can be slow.

Fantastic location in the picturesque castle district. Good sized very clean room, efficient air-con throughout hotel. Necessary when the outside temperature is in the 30's. Friendly and helpful staff. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, there are plenty and varied restaurants within a 10 minute walk. There's a bus service nearby and the metro is a 10-15...

By far this is my favorite hotel in Budapest. Located in Buda Castle, half of the hotel has a magnificent view (the one half facing the Danube River and Fisherman's Bastion and the Parliament. The other side of hotel is not even close regarding the view. Practically I would recommend ONLY the half of the hotel :)

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
