This hotel maynot be cutting edge in interior design but the staff are committed to being cutting edge in quality of service. The desk staff really went the extra mile to help make our stay a happy and enjoyable one.All staff were informative and spoke perfect english. They oragised boat trips and taxis that took the stress out of our...

I have stayed at the Budapest twice and think it is really good. It is located in a quiet suburb but the upper floors have splendid views over the city or the hills to the west. I don't understand critics who complain about the 60s/70s look of the hotel - the hotel wouldn't exist if it hadn't been built at...

I stayed here 2 evenings with a large tour group in September 2009. It was quite good. We were greeted upon arrival with fresh juice, and given our keys promptly to get to our rooms. The rooms themselves were quite good. The bathroom had a bath which was nice, although other than that it was quite basic. There was a...

Overall, its a good hotel. Its not located in the center of the city, but it has very easy access to public transportation. I would definitely stay there again. The only problem was that the air conditioning hardly works in the hotel and in the summer it gets a little hot. However, if you leave the windows open at night...

Nice neighborhood at the Buda area. Very poor furnitures at the room. Don't develop any expectations form the breakfast. Take your place with a lot of other tourists that are eating at the same time before going up to their busses. We will not stay there again

This hotel isvery much a hotel of the Budapest communist era. The room was filthy! Stains on carpet and cotton buds on floor. Would NoT recommend this hotel to anyone. Breakfast was a bun fight...not enough seating for everyone. There were 5 buses staying at once and I'm sure they all came down for breakfast at the same time.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stay at one of the capital’s iconic buildings! Hotel Budapest – formerly called Round Hotel – caused a major stir as soon as it was built. The high-rise circular building full of windows was considered an architectural oddball, and so in time became one of the symbols of Budapest and a favourite with visitors. With its 15 stories and 64 metres in height, it’s still the tallest hotel in the country. From its higher floors, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the various landmarks of the Buda and Pest sides of the city. The hotel, located in green surroundings at the foot of the Buda hills, is an excellent choice whether you want to go sightseeing, or you’ve come for a professional event, or if you want to go for a walk in the Buda hills: the buses or trams stopping in front of the hotel will take you to the M2 metro in Széll Kálmán Square in a few minutes, and also to many nice place in Buda, without having to change. The cog-wheel railway, a major tourist attraction in itself, stops right opposite the hotel, offering easy access to the Buda hills. The nearby Városmajor park is a great place for long walks, jogging and other outdoor exercise. Those arriving by car or coach can park their vehicle in the car park in front of the hotel. ... more   less
