The hotel is nice, rooms are smallish, service is good, but they skimp on things. One bar of soap, not one for the sink and one for the shower. Not enough bottled water, although the staff will bring you more if you call. My biggest complaint is its location and setting. Your view from your hotel room are other hotel...

Nice clean upscale type place. Location is close to most places. Room rate was fair, but prices in the bar/restaurant are high so be careful. Only complaint is the gym was closed, so had to go next door to use the other hotel's gym.

I don't give 5 stars easily and didn't here but did think they did everything they could to make the stay in Budapest relaxing. Some minor quibbles about not being great at changing the soap, a lack of spare power sockets to charge our phone and laptop and my wife's wifi not working (which I'm convinced was a hotel issue...

Was completely satisfied and very happy with stay at Hotel Kempinski on recent trip to Budapest. Excellent location; handy to walk to Danube and Chain Bridge, Great Market hall, down Vaci and up Andrassy. Also a block from buses and two blocks from the Andrassy metro. Loved walking "Fashion Street" directly out hotel back door to street vendors and Starbucks,...

This amazing, well run, perfectly situated Kempinski hotel has certainly achieved perfection. We couldn't find a thing wrong with it except for the expensive and badly managed Japanese restaurant which the hotel points out is just a lease operation and not part of the hotel. So leaving that aside everything about this marvellous place to stay is without fault. The...

Energetic downtown location. Walking distance to major points of interest in Budapest ... Churches, Palaces, Museums, Dining, Shopping. Friendly and professional staff, good restaurants including NOBU, and a friendly albeit very busy bar. Highly recommended.

This is Definitely one of the better places I've stayed! Stayed here 22-24th Sept. Room nice but I found a little small when compared with say the marriott around the corner. Friendly staff, great breakfast. Didn't try the spa or pool but it looked awesome. Blue fox bar onsite in hotel was nice, little on the pricey side though. 12.5%...

Stayed there during the New Year and the hotel left really cute chocolates/candies (one of them was a pig for good luck) to welcome the New Year. That was a nice touch! It is also near a cafe with very beautiful interiors called "Gerbeaud".

On our first trip to Budapest we were fortunate to be able to stay at this beautiful hotel. Staff were just excellent in every venue, and clearly they pay attention to detail and were always pleased to help. Spa and staff were just great. Edina from the Living Room and the Blue Fox restaurants was perfect. E & E Webb

I went on a business trip in August 2014. The hotel is perfectly located in the city centre, very near the Danube and the shopping district. It is very luxurious and the room was very very nice. Staff were very nice and attentive. It was a privilege to stay here!

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
