Acceptable solution for overnight in Budapest city. Keleti railway station 2 mins walk, straight across the square (actually there is a nice view to it from breakfast hall). Breakfast is very basic selection, average quality. Value for money place just one level above a hostel.

I chose this hotel based on its location being across the road from the train station as I wanted to catch an early train to Bratislava, Slovakia for a day trip. My taxi couldn't stop in front of the hotel due to traffic, so dropped me about 30 meters away and it is easy to walk past the hotel as...

Stayed here for two nights .. first impression after exiting the Budapest Main Station made us happy as the hotel was just across from the Station. The hotelier whom attended to us was Mr Attila and he was very professional and helpful at the same time .. we were early and our luggage was given safe-refuge in the hotel's "left...

Hotel was in good location - just on edge of Jewish quarter. We walked everywhere from here. Hotel staff were very friendly and obliging - they gave us maps and information and explained how to get to Vorosmarty Square when we arrived. They offered to book any tours we might want to take. Rooms were clean and tidy - if...

The Baross Hotel is not a 5 star hotel but is a very well run 3 star as the ratings suggest. From the time we arrived we were made to feel welcomed and at home . If the truth be know the guys on reception are some of the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever come across, nothing was...

The hotel and room was clean and neat. Location is great, metro station just across the street. Of course, it has it's downside too: traffic noise and the street musician's play enters the room clearly. The sound insulation is clearly the worst part of the hotel. The sounds from corridor and breakfast room were clearly audible in our room. The...

I travelled with my family 20 people in total. Spent only 3 nights in this hotel since we then travelled to slovakia. What i can say is that this 3 star hotel exceeded my expectations. Beautiful courtyard, clean rooms, good range of breakfast, easy check in and check out. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting budapest. Regards, Christa MALTA

We rented a two bedroom apartment with a fully stocked kitchen, AC, and free wifi. What we got was a kitchen that literally had a pot lid and nothing else, and a wifi signal that was so weak that it wouldn't even show up on our devices as an option unless we went out into the inner courtyard of the...

I chose this hotel for it's proximity to the main station and prices and it was fine. The staff were helpful and the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a bit short of options for vegetarians.

First visit half a year ago was very good (5th floor rooms). This time was just ok (4th floor rooms). The rooms are a bit small on the 4th floor. The walls are very thin. You can hear everything what happens in the neighbouring room. In the morning (around 6am) there was very loud noise from the courtyard. Maybe they...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
