We stayed at the Baross Hotel Feb 09, the hotel is situated on the top 2 floors of an apartment building, so you enter the hotel by the elevator. The hotel was lovely, it was clean, the room was spotless, it had a tv, mini-bar facility, hairdryer etc, the bathroom was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful,...

Was quiet impressed with this hotel. It was basic, but very clean and the breakfast was good. Typically European, colds meats and cheese, but it was fresh. Staff helpful and will advise you of what you can see and do. You can buy the tickets from the front desk to most attractions. Buses and metro close by. Great pizzeria acros...

Baross Hotel is located near to Keleti railway station, and convenient for the excellent underground and tram system - you can be anywhere in the city in minutes. The hotel is quirky, part of an apartment block. Get an apartment room if you can - mine was massive with kitchen/diner area and an enormous bathroom. Facilities are a home-from-home: not...

Loved this holiday. the hotel was beautiful and easily found and for someone with no sense of direction this was essential. The rooms were clean and quiet, but could do with slightly better air conditioning (even with the curtain behind it trick). However, beautiful large windows opening on to the central courtyard compensated for this. The room was cleaned beautifully...

When I had read the reviews of this hotell, I booked it for seven nights. The reviews here were mostly positive, so we were very surprised of this hotel.. First of all it is on the 5th and 6th floor of a big building, that was no problem, and the staff was very nice and helpful.. Now the negative aspects...

We stayed at the Hotel Baross in November 2007. We took the night train from Prague and arrived early in the morning. The hotel was directly across from the train station - you could see it as soon as you stepped outside - and it was great to not have to worry about cabs or metro to get there. The...

This is a great hotel, very quirky place. We were on the fourth floor and the room was spotless. Staff were friendly enough, food was good. Really can't complain about this place. Very pleasantly surprised. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Its a basic hotel, but the location is good. Very handy for the metro. On first arrival I was concerned, lots of work ongoing around the hotel and the area is not the nicest looking. The hotel is very basic but has all you need. Breakfast was a good selection and the staff were helpful....

Travelling from the airport and arriving at the hotel we wondered what we had let ourselves in for. There was a building site outside and a guard on the entrance to the hotel. However we were pleasantly suprised. The setup is rather unusual being on the fifth floor. We had an apartment that could sleep up to seven at a...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
