Can only rate this hotel as average I'm afraid. I'm not sure what star rating it claims but I would probably say about 2.5, possibly 3 stars. The staff were all very polite and helpful with very good English, but our room was fairly small and basic with no tea/coffee facilities and very basic bathroom supplies. Breakfast was the usual European...

My first impression of the Gold Buda Hotel (beyond the very pretty exterior) was a lovely man on reception, who after checking us in spent around 20 minutes giving us advice on things to see on the area and answering our numerous questions! The staff were all wonderful and incredibly helpful, and the room was of a good size, clean...

Visited Nov 2011, nice little hotel located on the Buda side. Good transportation links actually not too bad to walk into town. Quite a noisy situation as on a main rd, good value for money, wouldn't say it's the most modern accommodation but its clean and functional, Reception staff vey helpful, breakfast buffet ok takes them a while to replenish....

I stayed at this hotel for three nights together with a friend. I enjoyed my stay here! The staff are friendly, they speak English very well and they are keen to help you and to show you on the map how to find your way around the city. Our room was nice and clean. The breakfast is ok, not more....

Our family of 4 took an apartment in the next door building of Gold Hotel Buda. The apartment was quite huge: 2 rooms, equipped kitchen, dining area, bathroom, separate WC. We also had a balcony, where we could smoke. We could park our car in the garden of Gold Hotel Buda. It is not expencive, only 10 Euro per night....

We come to Budapest to try the termal spas. We chose Gold Hotel Buda, because there are 2 thermal baths nearby and I tell you, Gold Hotel Buda was a really good choice. The 2 thermal spas in the neighborhood are Gellért Spa and Rudas Spa. Gellért Spa has a beautiful Art Deco building and it is only 10 minutes...

We were lucky to find Gold Hotel Buda on the internet and we would go back any time. After a warm welcome we received our room key. Our room was on the second floor, so we did not use the elevator to go up and down. Our room was nice, the same as you can see on the internet. Minibar had...

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
