Stayed at the Danubius Hotel Astoria City Center for 3 nights in February with my husband. The hotel is located directly outside a Metro station and is no more than 10 minute walk to the River Danube's Elizabeth Bridge which proved a useful starting point for walking to the many areas of interest. There are lots of restaurants and bistros...

Stayed at The Astoria Hotel over Valentines. Location honestly couldn't be better, right by the metro and you can easily walk into the centre. Breakfast - We thought we had paid for bed and breakfast, but no, turned out we paid to sit in another room from everyone else, have one tiny croissant and a cup of coffee or water....

We visited Budapest for a long weekend and opted to stay in the Astoria. From the moment we arrived to the time we left nothing was too much trouble for the staff from concierge to reception and chambermaids. Entering the hotel is a trip back in time but with all mod cons. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, as...

Our tour company booked this hotel, but I must say we were not disappointed. Budapest was the last city on a three week tour of Central Europe and we were tired, but this place is as appealing to the eye as it is practical. Near (walking distance) to shopping, fast food, nice restaurants, and other entertainment. Our room was on...

More happy was the kids . Because they was sure that in this hotels needs to live vampires. The building is very old and you feel yourself like in one old movie . Only breakfast wasn't so good. That's why I gave 4*

This hotel is directly above the Astoria metro station, very easy to locate. It is an old hotel but great to stay in. We booked a twin sharing room and it's comfortable enough for 2 persons. The Staff is friendly. The breakfast is good enough. Many restaurants and cafe near the hotel.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
