we we lucky to find this lovely place, having only lasted a night at an over-hyped, over-designed hotel in gloomy Pest. I thought we would end up being ripped off at one of the international chains but our guide recommended this hotel across the river in pretty Buda. Small, elegant, full of Hungarian character, fully renovated, spotlessly clean, and for...

Great hotel, one of the best rooms I have ever seen, slept like an angel. I could recommend this hotel to everyone, you are however quite far from the shopping center you have to cross the river. One small little thing, if you put in your brochure on the room that you open roomservice till 11PM then don t close...

My husband booked the hotel for my birthday and I was amazed by the beautiful suite and the decor. The room was huge and included a kitchenette. A very romantic hotel to stay in and you can catch the funicular railway down to the centre of Budapest. It was snowing whilst we were there and we walked along the river....

As soon as we arrived, the staff couldn't do enough to help us, they even prioritized our room so we could check in early. They are all extremely frendly and very welcoming, and they all speak very good english. The rooms are large, airy and comfortable. Also very clean, we also had a balcony. The breakfast was plentiful and very good....

Lovely hotel on the Buda side of the city. A bit quieter than the Pest side, but we found that to be a plus. Very large, well appointed room with kitchenette facilities. Attentive staff, very clean. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. There is no gym, if that is important. Easy to take public transportation into the city center. The...

The hotel's is situated in the upper class and historical site, staff is helpful. We booked the gold suite through luxury link and the price is so good. Kitchen is equipped with all facilities, staying there with home feeling. Surrounding area is so beautiful and full of history, it is so peaceful and good choice for romantic getaways

We booked a suite at Buda Castle hotel, for New Years Eve, but fortunately when we arrived to Budapest, this hotel had no room availble but they change our reservation to the S. George Residence. -Location: Close to the Buda monuments. You can visit everything there by walking. For going to Pest, you can walk 10-15 minutes to the Chain...

This is a modern hotel cleverly built into an eighteenth-century building in Old Buda. Our room was huge -- with kitchen facilities as well. The bathroom was, of course, flawless! The staff were invariably cheerful and helpful -- willing to phone around for information for us, etc., etc. The hotel has a restaurant -- serviceable food with cheerful helpful service....

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
