I stayed here with my partner for 5 nights. In many respects this was a good choice; very near the St Stephen's Basilica and within easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. Our room was on 4th floor and faced the inner courtyard. It was quite spacious as was the en suite bathroom. Like the rest of the... More

Room, reception staff, breakfast, housekeeping, and location are at the upper limit of a European three star hotel and location is conveniently central. My double room for single use (certainly very good value for money) was spacious, quiet (as I had requested it), overlooking an internal yard, very clean, with large clothes closet, with luxurious, old fashioned "imperial" curtains which... Hotel is in the best location possible right next to Basilica. Reception were reasonably helpful and spoke good English. Bedrooms were of good size with spacious bathroom containing a shower/sink/toilet. Double bed was two singles pushed together and are quite low. Beds are comfortable and you can have extra pillows sheets etc just ask. There is air conditioning ( not... More

Location is perfect, all tourism objects are reachable by foot. Breakfast was average. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. Shopping are is 5 min walk away. Freandly staff. I would recomend it to my friends.

Remember, this is a simple old world style classic hotel, so westerners must keep this in mind. If you want high luxury, go to the Four Seasons and pay 10 times more. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk is also your concierge. They can make reservations for just about anything... More

This hotel tries it's best but falls a bit short. The location cannot be faulted- you are literally only a moments walk from the Basilica of St Stephen. The staff are great and all praise to them however the building is a little unloved. There were holes in the wall of our room where a fitting of some sort had... More

We have stayed at Hotel Central last year and we enjoyed it a lot so we have chosen this hotel again, this year. Besides the central location and the comfort provided, they surely have the most helpful staff that we have met.

While this is supposed to be a 3-star hotel, the only good thing is its location near the Basilica and A.C. The bed is lumpy and hard as are the pillows and comforter. Bed is also very low to the ground, suitable for a small child, but not for an adult. The sheets were too small for the bed. Look... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
