Check-in took over 45 minutes for just 4 couples in line, and none of the (3) receptionists spoke English. They didn't take credit card although it says so online. When we were checking out, they claimed we hadn't paid and asked for our receipt, which we never got to begin with. Then they insisted we had only paid for one...

It is actually the students hostel for the university. Good wifi, well lit comfortable rooms.. about 10 mins walk to the bus station. Old city with all attractions and many restaurants are within walking distance. Reception people speaks just basic English.

it s a student residence and the check in is on the ground floor for us , using it only for one night, and for 25 euros was more than expected. free wifi, good heating, very clean, with private bathroom and fridge and a kettle for warm drinks i think for this price is very very good. a stroll of...

Although it was cheap for Bratislava, it was bad choice for me..! The sheets were clean but they seems to be like dirty! Woman in reception didn`t speak English! Beds were very small so you couldn`t sleep well and the bathroom was very small too and without door!! It was far from the center by foot (it is tram connection...

Nothing good to say about this place other then the cost!!!! It Smelled, it was VERY dirty and not to mention the best part, Bed bugs in our room!!!! Yes, Bed bugs! We had to change rooms during the night and show the staff that they were crawling all over the bed. After the room was changed my girlfriend and...

Stayed one night here, and the place is a bit old and torn, but still clean and descent standard. Very similar to a student dormitory or so. Private bathroom, small rooms, the bed was ok. A bit of Walking to city centre and old town, but buses and trams are nearby.

I find it hard to understand all the negative reviews this place has gotten. The 'youth hostel' (called 'Pension Bernolak' on Booking.com and 'Študentský domov Jura Hronca' on the sign above the entrance) seems to be a student dormitory that also rents out rooms to individuals. The lady at the front desk spoke very little English, but was friendly and...

Close to the train station and walking distance to town, this communist-style building has big, clean rooms with free facilities like a water cooker, TV and free wi-fi. The rooms are decorated in communist (minimalist) style too, but with newish furniture and we loved it! Of the two single beds one mattress was hard and one was soft(er) which suited...

In case of the responses on this site, i have to say that this hostel pleased me very much. It concerns a characteristic communist building, which i think has really have its charm. The two times that i stayed here, it was very quiet. Besides the price pro night of course (which is nothing; around 10 euro pro night) a...

Me and two of my friends checked in the Hostel Bernolak for an overnight trip of Bratislava. Having been on a camping trip for several days across Austria, we were ready to be satisfied with basic accommodations and weren't expecting much at the hostel. We just wanted nice and clean bedrooms and bathrooms for the short stay so we thought...
