The Metropol Spa Hotel, nestled near the old town and shopping districts, garners acclaim for its strategic and serene location. Guests commend the hotel's cleanliness, highlighting spotless rooms and facilities, yet some suggest enhancing environmental practices and supplying more toiletries. The rooms, celebrated for their modernity, occasionally receive flak for subpar air conditioning and views.
While the spa's cleanliness and variety impress, charges for slippers and peak-time ambiance draw criticism. Service quality varies, with reports of both commendable friendliness and occasional indifference. The hotel's value proposition is debated, as some guests appreciate the spa's offerings against its cost, but others lament additional fees.

Detailed Reviews
Due to a very good deal in Booking.com, we ended up in Metropol Spa hotel. The rooms are fresh and clearly recently renovated. Three different kinds of pillows a nice surprise. I was a bit worried after reading a review about the aircon above the bed, but did not have any issues with it. The swimming pool area is really pleasant with one 32c swimming pool and four swirlpools, four saunas and a bar. The swimming pool area is open 830-21. Slippers are available at the front desk for 2e, bathrobes are in rooms.
The staff is partly nice, partly not. Some are very kind and service minded, which really is so important and defines the level of the hotel.
The area is lively during the day, with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, but peaceful at night. Busses and trams are available closeby.
Breakfast is served 7-10, and is basic but ok. I appreciate the labels (L,G) on the items. Wish they would serve some gluten free bread, and keep the gluten free bread away from the regular bread to avoid cross contamination. The oven baked eggs are not really appealing. It would also be nice if the breakfast was not exactly the same every day.
Metropol Spa is a decent choise, if the price is right, and you enjoy a nice spa area. Be sure not to mix Metropol Spa and Metropol hotels, they are next to each other but spa use is not complimentary for Hotel Metropol guests.

Dear Global767955, Thank you for staying at the Metropol Spa Hotel and for taking the time to share your kind review with other travelers on TripAdvisor! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay! Compliments regarding the location, rooms and Spa Centre are highly appreciated. The hotel was exactly as described in the header: we stayed in a simple yet cosy room with a double bed that was extra comfortable (but we do love a hard mattress, so beware), the room (and the hotel) were kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay and the staff and the general vibe of the place felt very easygoing. The location was perfect (nestled between the port and the Old Town) and the daily strolls were a good way to stay at least a little bit active. The breakfast was good and the spa (with its four saunas and a large pool) was a lovely addition! The only thing that could perhaps be improved on is the water pressure in the showers but I am not too sure whether this is something that could easily be influenced by the hotel. In any case, we will definitely be returning to the Metropol Spa Hotel!

Location was close to the ferry terminal, situation in the hip and interesting Rotterman neighbourhood, just outside old town. The room was clean and with a nice bed and bathroom, looked New and fresh. Spa was very nice with 4 different saunas, cold shower, 4 jacuzzis and one bigger pool. Water was warm and nice. Spa entry was included in our accomodation and We got bracelets to show at the entry deal of the spa. Breakfast was very good. They put a very nice baby crib for our daughter in our room for free.
Only things that can be improved was:
- Pillows were too big
- They could arrange a more cosy lounge that you would like to hang out in with friends and family
- Although polite, few staff members smiled

I had to stay in hotel on self-isolation, and the work of the hotel services was very poorly organized. They did not bring toilet paper or garbage bags into the room. But one day they brought dinner, which I did not order, it was included in the bill. At the time of check-out from the hotel, the maid came to clean the room at 11.15, preventing me from packing, although the checkout time is 12 a.m. Hotel services do not work properly, all the information between them transmitted incorrectly.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a business trip for a couple of nights, overall I was pleasantly surprised with the facilities.
Generous and quite spacious rooms for the price, good standard of bathroom particularly the showers included with bathrobes and other complementary items.
Even the beds were to quite a comfy standard, compared to many places I have stayed particularly in the UK.
Even the bar facilities were a treat, very generous and polite service with a smile which was very nice to see. The drinks on offer were an surprisingly large collection even served in thick pristine glasses.
The only issue for myself I would say is some of the other customers who were kicking in doors late at night, but this can't be a fault of the hotel.

We we were offered and paid for unlimited spa treatment in advance to find out on arrival spa Is closed. Restaurant is also closed. Did not explain this in booking. The bath in our room then leaked everywhere. They could not provide ice. They could not provide cutlery for our delivery breakfast. We asked for a vase for flowers we bought Couldn’t help with that. I asked to speak to manager twice. Was then told I need to write to him. No maid service. Asked for mini bar replenishment wasn’t provided. The shower was good. So was the view. This did not make up for all the failings unfortunately.

This place was excellent value for money - we have stayed in four hotels in Tallinn over the years, and this was the best compromise of location, value and facilities. Breakfast was good, and the spa was a good addition which most other hotels can't match. We found it quieter, yet just as convenient, compared with being right in the middle of the old town.

I arrived monday evening. The room was not perfectly clean, with two single bed( i asked for a double bed, months ago), without towels, and with a tough smell of smoke.
I complained the day after, and the only other option that a rude receptionists gave me was to pay extra 30 euro to move to Metropol SPA, the sister hotel, but maybe with the same management.
The Gluten free bread i requested months in advance was not there (in both the hotels is a DISASTER).I asked a late checkout as compensation, due to the fact my hotel was delayed. The replied i have from a kind of Sales Manager that the receptionist put me in touch, was that i have to pay 10 euro for every hour after 12 am. Don't waste your money here, people. there are way much better hotels around Tallinn!!

Dear Fabrizio, Thank you for staying in Metropol hotels and taking the time to share your experience with us! We obviously are disappointed that you felt so bad in our hotels and would like to apologize if your room was not cleaned correctly. I will definitely forward this information to our housekeeping department and I am convinced, that they will do their best to avoid these kind of situations in the future! Unfortunately it is not possible to order or to confirm double bed requests as all bed types are upon availability. Also we do not provide any special breakfast. For further explanation - You asked our Front Office Supervisor to speak with your Estonian representative who informed us that you had made a reservation to the wrong hotel as usually your colleagues always stay in Metropol Spa Hotel. Our receptionist did everything in his power to solve the problem. He contacted our sales department and negotiated special terms and price to change the hotel as you were not satisfied with the one you booked yourself. Therefore we do not see any reason for compensation. Our staff did the best they could, to solve the situations in Your favour. We naturally are very disappointed if you still feel that we did not meet you expectations. With best regards, Getter Eisler Front Office Manager Metropol Hotels

We stayed in Junior Suit in mid-January (1 adult and 2 teenage kids).
The positives:
The room was spacious and the bathroom was very big. Enough space for the 3 of us.
The room was pretty quiet and on one of the top floors.
Good breakfast and enough space for all the guests (the hotel didn't look crowded when we stayed there).
Great location close to everything.
The negatives that could be improved:
Our room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep there without opening the window (and then you get outside noise).
The bathroom floor was very hot, which is good when you want to have a shower or dry your towels, but not so good if you want to use bathroom to do your make up or dry your hair, you literally suffocate there.
The bathtub was leaking water like crazy.
Pillows extremely uncomfortable.
We had absolutely NO room service in 3 days. They do inform you at check-in that they will change sheets only every 3 days (which is reasonable), but I didn't expect that this means no room service at all - no one entered the room to make the beds, or see if towels needed to be changed, or to take out trash... Definitely NOT the standard for a 4 star hotel.
The hotel has spa and we were given passes to use it. However, the day we wanted to go to the Spa, it was closed for maintenance. I wish Reception would inform us that the Spa would be closed on certain days of our stay, so that we could adjust our plans. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the spa at all, which was one of the reasons we picked up this hotel.
The service at the reception desk was uneven. Some employees were very kind and responsive, and some were rather dry and looked as if they are making you a huge favour by answering your questions. When we left, we only got "Good bye!" No "how was your stay?" or at least "have a good trip". This is something you expect in hotels of that category.

We got room upgrade and we were amazed - the junior suite is specious, quiet and has a nice view to old town (especially in the night). The spaa had 4 jacuzzis that gave the feeling of privacy. We were a bit confused with the aroma, stream and salt saunas - they did not seem to work, however, the Finnish sauna was excellent and plus points for the cold water shower.
Breakfast was ok but the highlight was - pancakes. The best I have had in hotel breakfast buffee.
