Location- the hotel was ideally located for the old town and getting around Tallinn. Rooms- modern and clean. Service- friendly service who were able to provide good suggestions for places to eat etc. Price- very reasonable compared to similar hotels in Tallinn. History of the hotel/KGB Museum- the hotel has a fascinating history whilst Estonia was under Moscow control. So...

We didn't stay at this hotel but did the KGB Museum and tour - remember to book in advance as it sells out very quickly. You get to go the the top floor (yes, there's another secret floor above floor 22!) and see how the KGB spied on all those foreigners who stayed at the Hotel, not knowing their bread...

The KGB museum is small but fascinating and the view over the old city from the balcony is breath-taking. The guide was enthusiastic, knowledgable and very entertaining. I only visited the museum and I did not stay at the hotel

We stayed because of the history and promised views of Tallinn and the sea. We had a top floor room with a view had window seats so you could watch the sunset, the changing sky and sea, the old town and the cruise shops coming and going. When I say the top floor I mean the penultimate one as the...

Dear alisonleahy, thank you for your stay and encouraging words! Tallinn is beautiful and we sincerely hope that we meet you again soon in Tallinn and in our hotel. In the times ships arrive and people come at the same time to our hotel, it may be crowdy in reception and it takes more time. If something runs out at...

I was expecting a bit more from this legendary hotel. The location is excellent as well as the view from the highest floors. The public spaces deserve the 4 stars, byt the out of date rooms with worn out floors and hostel level bathrooms do not. Breakfast could have been a bit more innovative than it was - some Estonian...

I spent one night at Sokos Hotel Viru with my daughter and if we would ever needed a hotel in Tallinn again, it would be the same hotel. Staff was very helpfull, check in and out was fast, room was spacious (standard room), clean and quiet and the breakfast - fresh, rich and everything was spotless!

Nothing really stands out as particularly good or bad. The rooms are adequate. Rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy due to the night club across the street. But only a problem for light sleepers. Breakfast OK and plenty to choose from. Have stayed several times and would stay again.

Dear MarkSmalleyNL, for several times we have had the pleasure to welcome you and we really hope to do it again and again! Actually we have reported many times to city authorities about the noise and every time the nightclub across the street have switched the volume down - please do tell to our receptionist, if the noise starts to...

As you arrive in Tallinn it is hard not to spot this ~20 floor high hotel middle of the city centre. It is really easy to come and go everywhere from here (harbour, old town etc.). Plus hotel building is actually part of Viru Keskus shopping center - during winter you can easily go dining/shopping without taking your coat with...

Dear Lmi555, thank you so much for your visit and for the kind words! We have our smaller neighbor Solo Sokos Hotel Estoria, the lobby is common, but there are separately two receptions, two breakfasts and through the gallery one can get from Viru to Estoria. We like to think that the Viru shopping mall is a part of our...

We had a room high in the hotel, think the 19th floor. It was built in the early seventies by the Soviets. The top floor is now a KGB museum, really funny, if it was not so serious. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The hotel has about 1,000 guests when it is a full house Most of the...

Dear RobEnJolanda, thank you for your visit and for your kind words! Indeed the hotel was built in seventies, but by Finns and therefore the quality is much better than other soviet-time buildings has. And fo course, it has been renovated for several times since then, the rooms were renewed about a year ago. Our hotel is really popular and...

What wonderful city and the hotel is 10minutes walk into the old town city centre through the Viru turreted Gate. The city has maintained its medieval look and its full of cobbled side roads and craft shops bars and restaurant definitely visit the Olde Hansa and Peppersack opposite it. Had super time there loved it.
