The rooms are comfortable and clean. They have everything you need. The owners are willing to help or answer questions at any time. There is a great breakfast with a lot of variety, but it is the same every day. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because someone older may have trouble with the stairs and taking luggage up and down. I did not have any problems and loved the black out curtains since there are so few hours of darkness in the summer. I stayed here for several days, and the women who clean work very hard. They wash the hotel out from top to bottom and even the outside stairs every day. This is not your American Hilton, but even though it is an older hotel, the family does their best to keep the hotel nice. Make sure breakfast is included in your rate.

Good location near the harbour and right next to the city centre. The staff there are very friendly and helping. Our room was nice and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The air in the room did not change very well. So in the hot summer season, it may be bit challenging unless you keep the window open. Other than that, very good.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. Arrived late and the receptionist welcomed us. We had a free parking and the room was also okay. The walls was so thin and we could hear neighbour's snooring through the night. Breakfast was small but it had all that you could wish for.

Very nice hotel. I liked the room at first sight! The room was better than I expected. It was designed in a romantic style, in bright and soft colors. Incredibly cozy. I had a nice stay there. Quiet and quiet at night. In my case, breakfast was included in the price. Some parts of the hotel serve as hostels. It created some chaos when all the guests of the hostel came to the hall for breakfast at the same time and had their big backpacks with them. But there was enough space and food for everyone! Nice staff.

The hotel itself is cheap. It costs about 26 euros for 2beds room. The negative ascpect is that there is one toilet and one bathroom for every 4 double rooms which is rather unconfortable. Hotel also advertise that it has sauna and swimming pool, however it is extra paid - about 20 euros for one hour of sauna. The surroundings of the hotel are not so attractive, but if you want to have a bed to sleep in the view from the window doesn't bother. Good point is that it is located near the city centre. Anyway, if you're looking for a cheap accomodation it is a good solution.

Hotel Dorell has all the necessary facilities.
Perfect price quality ratio.
Simple but good breakfast.
But the most important of all is the friendly staff and the good hygiene, everything is very clean.

Hotel Dorell is only a 10 minute walk from the old town, and basically seems to be a Soviet apartment block converted into a hotel, which is no real problem, except that there are other Soviet apartment blocks surrounding it, which are still functioning as apartment blocks. This didn't bother me too much, but could make others a bit nervous coming home late etc. Nevertheless, I found this hotel to be fine for a short stay, and even the shared bathroom didn't seem to be occupied when I needed it. The decor was like a stereotypical grandma's house - all flowery and faded, but the beds were fine, and it was quiet, not to mention very cheap. I didn't have breakfast, and only stayed one night, but it was fine for a come-in-late-wake-up-early kinda trip.

Above all I appreciated a comfortable mattress. Many places provide fridges, irons, big tv, rooms designed to who knows, but mattresses suck. Not in this place. Thumb up for me + breakfast was excellent. Street noise was not existant when windows closed, which might be an issue in summer though.

Basic. No elevator. Bathroom down the hall. Comfortable beds, big windows, quiet neighborhood, thin walls so excited neighbor’s room noise (watching World Cup) was intrusive. Clean toilet and shower. Good staff. We liked location near big grocery store, inexpensive restaurants, park, downtown. Breakfast is hard boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese, cereals, snack bars, porridge, cold cabbage or cucumber salads, good coffee. A good value for the price and easy walk to Old Town and shopping centers.

I went here with my girlfriend, and we were kinda afraid that the place would be a bit dirty. When we checked in and went to the room, our attitude changed. We saw that the place was old and had seen a lot of years, but it wasn't dirty. The sheets, floor and bathroom were all clean. The room was big, it had a sofa, bed, tv (didn't turn on) and wifi. The room was absolutely great for the price that we paid. We had a room for two with double bed, own bathroom and shower.

The breakfast was ok, i didn't expect much. The porridge actually was awesome! Haven't had that good porridge anywhere in Finland's expensive hotels. It might have been luck, but still it was great.

The hotel isn't far from city centre or bay. You can walk there easily. Someone said here that the street is scary, but actually there was a school, a synagoga and student apartments. I think it was somewhat safe neighbourhood.

I recommend this hotel if you want value for your little amount of money!
