Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

Hotel Metropol is often praised for its pristine rooms and central location, beloved by guests for its proximity to Old Town and city attractions. The cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms are commended, yet some visitors find them too warm and criticize the lack of air conditioning. While the staff receives accolades for their friendliness, service can be inconsistent, with some guests experiencing slow response times. Although the hotel's amenities, such as the spa, are appreciated, the additional charges and absence of in-room conveniences are detractors. The atmosphere tends to be described as lacking charm, affecting the overall guest experience.

A really good hotel, Everything you want, Very well priced, Close location to all the attractions especially the old town which is 5 min walk. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. double bed was comfy. The staff were very friendly and checking in and out was easy. The hotel also has a spa, gym and restaurant on site all at extra cost if needed. A Supermarket and bus station are also about 5 mins away. Highly recommend this hotel as your choice to stay in Tallinn.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Check in and check out were efficient. Someone was always present at the front desk. Breakfast was diverse and of good quality. I booked a package at the spa and this was a lovely experience - relaxing massage and multiple jacuzzis and saunas to choose from.
The room was clean and the bed/pillows very comfortable to sleep on. The only bother I had was that I booked a double bed and unfortunately this was two separate beds placed next to each other without any bedding to keep them there. When on the gap, the beds would slide over the floor, risking falling onto the floor. A single bedding/sheet to keep the beds together would have easily resolved this.
Everything else was amazing and I would go again!

Me and my friends had a wonderful time at the metropol hotel (again)! Definetly our favourite hotel in Tallin. Amazing location, super easy check in/out, very friendly and helpful staff and overall yet again had the best time in metropol hotel. This time i gave 4/5 stars just because there were 3 of us in the room and there were only 2 sets of towels and blankets so we had to ask staff to bring them to us. Staff was very kind and humble when they brought the towels! We will 100% come back, hopefully soon!

I arrived monday evening. The room was not perfectly clean, with two single bed( i asked for a double bed, months ago), without towels, and with a tough smell of smoke.
I complained the day after, and the only other option that a rude receptionists gave me was to pay extra 30 euro to move to Metropol SPA, the sister hotel, but maybe with the same management.
The Gluten free bread i requested months in advance was not there (in both the hotels is a DISASTER).I asked a late checkout as compensation, due to the fact my hotel was delayed. The replied i have from a kind of Sales Manager that the receptionist put me in touch, was that i have to pay 10 euro for every hour after 12 am. Don't waste your money here, people. there are way much better hotels around Tallinn!!

Response from Hotell_Metropol, Front Office Manager at Hotel Metropol
Responded Feb 4, 2020
Dear Fabrizio, Thank you for staying in Metropol hotels and taking the time to share your experience with us! We obviously are disappointed that you felt so bad in our hotels and would like to apologize if your room was not cleaned correctly. I will definitely forward this information to our housekeeping department and I am convinced, that they will do their best to avoid these kind of situations in the future! Unfortunately it is not possible to order or to confirm double bed requests as all bed types are upon availability. Also we do not provide any special breakfast. For further explanation - You asked our Front Office Supervisor to speak with your Estonian representative who informed us that you had made a reservation to the wrong hotel as usually your colleagues always stay in Metropol Spa Hotel. Our receptionist did everything in his power to solve the problem. He contacted our sales department and negotiated special terms and price to change the hotel as you were not satisfied with the one you booked yourself. Therefore we do not see any reason for compensation. Our staff did the best they could, to solve the situations in Your favour. We naturally are very disappointed if you still feel that we did not meet you expectations. With best regards, Getter Eisler Front Office Manager Metropol Hotels

The hotel is not bad. Great location. Excellent varied breakfast. But the staff doesn't want to solve the guests' problems. When checking into your hotel, a parking space for our car was not provided, although we noted when ordering a room. that we need a parking lot. We were asked to park our car in the Europark parking lot next to the hotel for 16 euros. Moreover, the cash register of the parking lot does not give change. Where can guests get the exact amount of 16 euros if they expect to pay by card and cannot change money in your hotel? Moreover, your administrators could advise guests to park their cars in two other parking lots near the hotel, where parking for a day costs 4 and 5 euros! First time we have such a situation when the hotel did not help with parking! The mood was spoiled already upon arrival at the hotel. During our stay no one cleaned the room. The toilet lid was constantly popping out of the attachment points.

- The price is relatively high and comparable with high quality hotels. However, the quality of the rooms are way below the average. You can compare it with the quality of cheap hostels in poor districts of the city. On top of that, you will find damaged furniture, dirty and dusty air ventilation grills and someone’s black hairs on pillows. Audibility of the rooms is on such an “amazing” level that you can hear the details of your neibghours discussion and if you are lucky, even farting. If such quality is acceptable for some guests, fine, but are yoi realy ready to pay 90€/night for it? I suggest to choose one of amazing hostels instead. At least the price is comparable to what you get.

+ On the other hand, I am very thankful to the staff, who relocated us to a neighboring hotel with adequate living conditions.

The rooms felt old and not well-designed or well-decorated for the price range. We could not find a thermostat to control the air temperature in the room, and the bed, which we ordered a queen bed, felt there was a divide in between. And the mini-fridge was too noisy. This was the first time I was hearing a minibar to make a noise! Overall, we feel like we paid more for the room considering the quality. But the reception staff was very nice so that was quite good.

All is good. Location, room, breakfast. You can find parking across the street ( Ahtri tee) 5 euro per day.
Restaurants, shopping center, old town are nearby. There is a Metropol SPA 4* hotel in the same building where you can use spa services.

Hotel is really well located 10 minutes walking from the old town , there are supermarkets and shops around and easy access to the public transport. Just make sure you ask for a room on the opposite direction of the Main Street that is quite noise even with the windows close. There is gym and spa as well that you can pay separately.

I would have loved to give more stars to this hotel, which at first seemed to be a gem. Our room was really big three beds room and we liked the interior of the hotel. However, the staff was extremely rude, never said 'good morning', 'hello', etc. They never ever looked up when we crossed the reception. On the first day I asked if the rooms are cleaned daily, so that I know whether I leave the towels on the floor or not. The reception answered 'I am not sure'!!?? What?? Well, they did not clean the rooms daily. On the second morning I asked for more toilet paper. It took almost four hours to get it! I called the reception three more times to ask wht's the problem. Ridiculous. The location of the hotel is perfect, five stars of that. Also breakfast was good. I just hope there is something they could do to improve the behaviour of the staff. Would love to return, but there are few issues that might reject it. In summer I would also go somewhere else, room was HOT even on February.

Yes, there is an elevator. The hotel is not in the old town but between the harbour and the old town. However, the distances are quite short and hence easy to walk.
