I stayed 3 nights at the Blue Cow, and I enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly, and can also help with any questions about the city and activities. The rooms are spacy, and the communal area is well equiped, as well very cosy. The hostel is very clean, probably the cleanest I have ever seen. Being rather a flashpacker...

A hostel for the upper class of the backpacker community! Absolutely beautiful hostel located in a nice quite area of the old town. The hostel couldn't possibly be cleaner or more modern. The one woman army Kristine, who does everything by herself does an incredible job! Can't fault a thing...

Been here 2 times, in summer and on new years eve and both times were excellent. This place is more like home rather than hostel. Warm carpets, nice furniture, perfect location, very open and friendly staff. Dont hesitate what to choose if you want lovely, quiet vacations. Btw they have "brother" hostel with parties and clubbing facilities

The unusuall name of this hostel atrracted me from the very first moment so I jumped in to take a look and decided to stay. I stayed there two nights only because of the train for Moscow which I had to catch but Riga old...

I stayed two nights in October in a eight-bed room, but I miss it so much! 10 minute walk to the bus and train stations. It is really a boutique-type hostel, which is like if you stayed at your friend abroad who has quite a big family. I can only confirm the best words of other reviewers. I could not...

While Riga itself was a beautiful experience, the Blue Cow Barracks made a stay in the city a pure delight. The hostel is located very much in the center of Riga, in a vibrant neighborhood. It was super tidy, and the staff was extremely helpful. We stayed in the private rooms, and these provided 3 if not 4 star comfort....

This place was such a treat. Never stayed in a hostel so nice before. Honestly more like a B&B, so relaxed. Latvian & Aussie couple owners so helpful. “We have not used it, but the shared bathroom also looked nice. Shower and toilet are sperated, and they provide a washing machine. I rate rooms with 4 points, but only since I have not seen the dorm. In summer some of the rooms might be bit noisy when keeping the windows open, as all the barracks have restaurants and bars on their ground level that were quite busy outside even in September.”

“If you are traveling as a family or close friend circle, we recommend the private rooms, where you have absolute privacy and the luxury of an attached bathroom/closet etc. If you don't need such extreme privacy, the other rooms are also very much recommendable.”
