My hubby and I stayed in this beautiful B&B for 3 nights earlier this month. The house is beautiful, clean and full of character. We met Diga one of the owners but sadly Ric was away on business so we didnt get to meet him. We had a lovely suite which consisted of a huge bedroom and a very roomy...

After 3 soulless hotels, staying 4 days with Diga was an abolute delight. Homestay Riga is everything a hotel is not - warm, personal, full of character, a home way from home, complete with 2 fat, furry cats and the most endearing, gorgeous dog, an outdoor patio and a pumpkin patch. Best of all was Diga (Ric was away) who...

Others have said it all. Rick and Diga are excellent hosts and Rick cooks an tasty breakfast. The house is colourful and arty. We stayed on the top floor in a spacious "suite". All good and recommended.

Big rooms with large windows. - Rick makes amazing breakfast ( I hope he remembers how to make an Indian style Dal)". - You can buy wine from them, subject to availability. -Rick has a a red colored Tandem bike which is reluctantly...

We went to Riga for a city trip of 4 days/3 nights. The stay in Homestay was pleasant and quiet. Diga is really attentive and full of good tips. The one of using the tandem to go to the beach is not the least one (an experience to taste if you have never used a tandem in your life). Further...

Rick and Diga are the consummate hosts. We've stayed in a ton of B&B's over many years of traveling but I think the five nights we stayed at Homestay Riga take the cake. The house is located in the Mezaparks section of Riga -- that, in itself, is a cultural experience you will not forget. We, through some nice quirk...

Rick and Diga were fantastic hosts- if you've got a passion for culture and history as seen through the eyes of people that got to experience a lot of world changing events in their lives, then you should feel perfectly at home here. Plus, Rick has a wicked sense of humor and makes killer pancakes. The house was gorgeous and...

Ric and Diga are amazing and generous hosts . Ric could make a living as an after dinner speaker but he is also a great breakfast cook . Breakfast is an event . The other guests were French and German and Ric ensured that our breakfast conversation was worldly and amusing . Both Diga and Ric are competant artists and...

Ric was wonderful long before we arrived as he advised us about planes, onward travel and organised a driver to meet us. Both Ric and Diga are really interesting to talk to about life in the region. Breakfast was fun as we were introduced to everybody and we enjoyed Ric's humorous and good natured banter and I loved the breakfast....

We chose to stay with Ric and Diga as an initiation into the local culture at the start of our Baltic holiday and it proved to be everything we wanted and more. Lovely rooms with a view, distinctive surroundings with its own history, a breakfast that keeps you going for the rest of the day and charming hosts. It was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
HOMESTAY is where we live. Our house is a friendly eco-build log house in the leafy diplomatic suburb of Mezaparks; Europe's first Garden City. We usually do a free tour of the Art Nouveau and Deco buildings after the best cooked breakfast in Riga. We have 1 large double as well as 2 100m2 fully self contained luxury short or long term apartments. Plenty of secure parking is available. The tram to Riga center takes 20 minutes. There are great facilities on our doorstep. Forest, Lake, boating, cycling, golf, BMX track, tennis, squash, fitness, saunas and a couple of class restaurants. We will gladly lend you our tandem. Book early. If in doubt stay the extra few days to give us the chance to help you organise the perfect Northern holiday. ( for Finns and Estonians we organise the perfect Southern holiday ) ... more   less
