Nine of us are just home from a very pleasant stay in the Albert hotel in Riga, Latvia. It is in a very good location from the Old Town, once you figure out the way to walk there. Don’t be confused by the time it takes you to get there in a taxi, as we did when we first got...

Great hotel. Was told before going to Riga that they weren't interested in service and that everyone was almost mad at you for not speaking Latvian. Not true at all. Everyone greeted us with a smile and were helpful. The hotel was clean and everyone smiled to us. Even the cleaning ladies said good morning to us with a big...

We stayed here at the end of March this year and loved it. Although the hotel isn’t slap bang in the centre, we preferred this as it meant we could escape from the groups of stag dos! It was also a welcome walk back to work off some of the hearty dinners that we had! The staff here were all...

Stayed at the Albert Hotel with 3 mates for 2 nights as part of a lad’s weekend away and would definitely recommend it. The rooms were both quiet and clean and would say that this was closer to a 4-star hotel rather than the advertised 3-star rating. It is around a 15min walk to the old town but does actually...

Went with my son for a 3 day visit to Riga to show him his heritage (his grandparents were latvian), and watch Latvia V Spain in the Euro Qualifiers(the prospect of watching football persuaded him). Taxi from the airport cost 7.5 lats in fairly heavy traffic(returning on empty Sunday roads cost 5.6 lats). The Albert allowed us to check in...

Despite the reviews of this hotel I was still a little apprehensive when I arrived having been disappointed on previous occasions with unknown hotels. As soon as we arrived on 8 June though we had First Class service for the whole weekend. Our luggage was safely whipped away to a small room as we were too early to check in...

This hotel is very well locate since it is not in the old town. The old town can be very noisy with all the brits singing away. The buffet breakfast is wonderful, all the smoked salmon and extras you could want. Very nice front desk staff.

We booked this hotel mainly because of the reviews on trip-advisor and I'm happy to say they were accurate, this hotel is excellent. The receptionists on arrival were very good and we were given two excellent rooms, one on the smoking floor (for smokers) and one in the non-smoking area. The rooms are a decent size and the bathrooms are...

Hello I visited Riga at the end of May 2007. My friend and I decided on the Albert as it was fairly central without being too noisy. Had a tiny problem checking in - the hotel had no knowledge of our booking, even though we had booked it directly on the hotel website. However, they dealt with the situation swiftly...

We stayed at the Hotel Albert in Riga for 3 nights at the very end of May. Our first impressions of the hotel were reasonably good, although like what a lot of people have already mentioned the staff that know they're not likely to get a tip are VERY miserable! The hotel is located away from the Old Town (the...
