The hotel is very well located, just across the river, after the old bridge. However you should know the reception is on the left side of the square, even if the gps shows you the hotel is on the right (they have two similar buildings). The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Very good breakfast also.
I have stayed at this hotel several times and would not consider staying anywhere else in Ponte de Lima. Marisol, Ricardo and the rest of the staff are very kind and helpful. Rooms are on the small side, but for the prices here I am not expecting a walk in closet.. breakfast is ample and the woman attending the breakfast always has a smile. It is an easy walk across the Roman bridge to get to the heart of town (a couple of minutes) and some of the rooms have nice views over the bridge too. There is a nice place to hang out in the outside area that overlooks the town as well. The owner has some bottles of wine from the area he sells in the lobby so you can try some interesting wines from the region. I look forward to my return!! My last visit was June 2018, but I will be back this coming June as well. If you want to eat in Ponte de Lima, try Vaca das Cordes - so good!…
This hotel is across the albergue. I paid 48 € since I was tired and was glad I found a place. However the rooms are loud, the toilet is the smallest I have ever used. (Finally some good privacy and still you can’t take a decent dump). There is no washing service available and washing yourself leaves you with wet clothes since there are no radiators. Only good if you are a tiny bummed tourist instead of a pilgrim.
Highlights: bilingual , friendly and efficient service at the front desk during regular hours and the rooms we had were modern chic and -during the searing heatwave a very welcome relief- airconditioned! It's located next to the famous bridge that makes going to the town's historical center easy and accessible. We didn't stay for breakfast but overall we were thrilled with our short stay.
Arrived at hotel 1.30pm told to wait for 1 and 1/2 hours as rooms not ready till 3pm. Not offered even a drink of water or direction to a cafe. Told to wait in a chair....no sympathy or even a helping hand. Not a good welcome to first night in portugal.
