Breakfast included with variety of foods on offer in quaint coffee house on ground floor which was originally grocery shop and many pieces from bygone days are on display.
The Mercearia offers hotel rooms above what was once a grocery store in central Ponte de Lima, just behind the Parish Church (whose clock chimes and bells are mercifully silent during the night). Delicious ample...

The Casa de Chandezil is a charming house set just outside Ponte de Lima, in a very quiet neighbourhood and surrounded by a rural landscape. The house is a beautifully restored countryhouse and consists of two b&b apartments as well as a breakfast room. Both apartments have easy access to the really large garden with olive trees, orange trees and large open areas where children can play safely without any concerns, as the garden is surrounded by walls. The rooms were clean and well maintained and beds felt comfortable and fresh. Bathrooms were very clean and an abundance of fresh linens was provided. We stayed in the ground level apartment, which we really can recommend as it has a small wrought iron fireplace that guests are free to use. It was so nice to sit in the leather sofas in the evening with a glass of wine listening to the fire! In the morning, before breakfast, we went directly out in the garden with a cup of coffee (coffee provided in the room) and enjoyed the view of the garden and the valley of Rio Lima. Breakfast was then served in a traditional dinner room with ample space, even if both rooms were to be occupied at the same time. Casa de Chandezil is conveniently located just 10 minutes with car from central Ponte de Lima. It is also possible to walk there. Around the house there is an abundance of calm countryside roads, perfect for afternoon walks or just a short pre-dinner stroll. The owners were very friendly and really helped us with recommendations etc! A true relaxing location in the North of Portugal!…
