After spending three nights at Rosemary's house "Room with a View" we cannot imagine anywhere better to stay, or a nicer, more welcoming hostess. It is a charming, historic house in a beautiful garden with lovely roses. Our room, with a lovely view of the harbor, was spacious and comfortable with a good bed. Although our room had a TV,... Stayed with Rosemary in her humble abode, and it was indeed home away from home. We were given good directions as we had called before arriving and located her house with no issue! Each rooms sleeps 2 max so with only 2 rooms you might not be able to find too large a crowd which would be manageable for Rosemary.... More

Rosemary and her home are warm and welcoming. Situated within walking distance of south Akaroa the house has a beautiful garden and views of the bay. Our room was large with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. The bed came with electric blankets which were great. There is a shared bathroom with toilet which wasn't a problem for us.... More

We had a very enjoyable stay with Rosemary - her home is perfect - wonderful view, verandah, lovely garden full of delicious fruit and beautiful plants. The house is delightful and full of charm. Rosemary is amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and we enjoyed her company very much. The place to stay in Akaroa. Jenny and John UK

Loved our stay here even though we found it quite strange that we weren't given keys. The room was huge and the bed very comfortable. The only downside was the shared bathroom. The house is close enough to the town and we had a lovely afternoon on the terrace drinking wine and reading our books. Rosemary even drived us to... More

That’s how we felt when we stepped into Room with a View! This Akaroa trip was a gift for my husband’s birthday. The birthday boy has never been fond of big hotels. So, this B&B looked perfect in the trip advisor page. Rosemary’s warmth made us feel welcomed and as we finished our tea at the veranda while gazing at... More

We went to quite a number of B & Bs during an extended trip to Australia and New Zealand, but none of them was like A Room with a View. If you want modern, swish, hotel-style accommodation, this is not the place for you. But if you want character - in both house and host - you'll find this hard... More

Stayed 2 nights - wish it could have been longer. Lovely to sit on the balcony taking in the view with a nice cup of tea. Shared shower room but we were the only guests for the 2nd night - and it had my favourite Van Gogh print in it, so knew this B&B was the place to be !... More

Staying at Rosemary's house is such a treat! She invited us onto her cottage balcony for "lemon drink" made with her lemons from her quaint garden. She had not worked out wireless to the cottage at this stage but we were happy regardless.

Rosemary is the perfect B & B host - attentive but not intrusive. Knowledgeable and willing to be helpful but also comfortable about leaving you alone. Wonderful bed and excellent breakfast. Great location. Only small downside is the shared bathroom.
