We stay over for 1 night in this lovely clean motel. Free wifi and nice friendly host Simon. Kitchen stuff all there.Good place to stay very close to the center. We have to check out tomorow morning at 10.00 but we can take a shower after we have a swimm with the dolphins. So nice!;) thank you Simon

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at La Rive. A ground level two bedroom apartment with kitchen, living room, and access to outdoor seating area in front garden, It wasn't luxurious or modern by any means...but it suited our purpose perfectly. Pub right across the road that had lovely meals and staff...and another pub a few minutes walk further up....

This motel is cheap for Akaroa, but it's also not good, to say the least. Staff were pleasant enough, and it does have the absolute essentials, but no more. It's badly in need of tidying up, with peeling paint, mould in the bathroom, lots of weeds in the courtyard, etc. It looks like nothing's been changed since the 1970s, and...

The room was very outdated with dirty fixtures. The WIFI was poor and the smoke alarm was not working. Owner did not seem to care. Also insufficient parking. The outdoor furniture broken and unsafe. Lifted up lounge cushions to find rubbish underneath.

We were a bit nervous booking this place due to past bad reviews but took a punt. Our two bedroom unit was spacious and light with a nice outdoor area with a table and chairs we could use. It is also handily located and central Akaroa is easily walkable. It was also reasonably quiet and staff were friendly. However there...

When we arrived there was just a sign at reception with our name on it directing us to our motel room that was open. All the windows had been left open and it was freezing! We put our jackets on and sat immediately in front of the old bar heater. We had been looking forward to watching the cricket with...

To be honest. It was a revolting dirty, cold, dated place to stay. Thank goodness we only went for 1 night. Never have we been so cold, our bed sheets were surpose to be white but were yellow with age. Also we found public hairs in all our beds and stains on sheets. Just yuck. I slept in my clothes...

Our room was very dated cold, a tv that you could not get channels on, no DVD player no clock, alarm clocks etc. We were on the ground floor with a room above us with their toilet right over our bedroom which was most unpleasant listening or more to the point being woken up by people using the toilet at...

Located on the main street of town and a short walk to cafes, shops and restaurants this is a great choice of accommodation if you're looking for a room with cooking facilities and room to move. The room was clean and comfortable with loads of nature light and fresh air.
