We stayed in the little cottage, there is also a B&B option at the house. The house is wonderfully restored with a beautiful big open fire. Just outside the back door is a babbling brook with friendly eel and native planting. A small bridge crosses the creek and a path meanders into the native bush where you will discover a...

If you are looking for a romantic getaway for two - or just a wonderful escape from reality - Kokopu Cottage in Akaroa is absolutely magical. Part of the Kokopu Estate, friendly hosts Wendy & Mark live on site up the hill and after years of running this multi-site B&B accommodation destination, have the art of hosting down to a...

Time to check New Zealand off of our bucket list, and boy did we find just the right place to call home in Akaroa! It is your own little hide away surrounded by amazing beauty from our Gate Keepers cottage window, and the main part of the house as well. The real plus for us was that it was hidden...

We visited Akaroa and stayed in the Kokopu cottage. It is in the valley just as you enter in to Akaroa. It is a gem of a wee cottage completely surrounded by beautiful bush. There is a stream running right past - I can image in the summer it would be fab to be sitting outside and absorbing everything around....

Most gorgeous cottage with open fireplace. Best bed that we have ever slept in. Lovely garden setting. Did not use the outdoor bath due to rainy weather but this would be fun! Plenty of firewood and kindling replenished daily. Ideally suited to family of 4.

I stayed in Kokopu Cottage for two nights and it was lovely. I booked it for the outdoor bathtub and it was heavenly. I didn't know how to light the fire to heat the water so Wendy and Mark helped me out with that and I had a lovely hot soak in the cool evening breeze. It was a divine...

In April 2015, my husband and I spent the first few days of our honeymoon at Kokopu Estate. The experience was magical. The property is lovely and sprawling, with fruit trees and a sheep pasture. We stayed in Potager Suite, which is upstairs in the main house. The suite was well-equipped with a tea kettle, a huge bathtub, matching bathrobes,...

The location is remote and rustic though not hard to reach. Owners are helpful and willing to assist. We stayed couple of nights here and loved the quiet location. It is ideal for a good rest and relax.

We stayed in the quaint Kokopu Cottage for 3 nights. It had a rustic feel but was well kept and clean with a very comfortable bed, comfortable couches and lovely log fire. We didn't have any issue with hot water and found the shower great. We loved the fantails and the geese wandering around as well as the little stream...

This is a B&B in a beautiful setting and has great views from the top of the hill. It is approx. 5 minutes drive to the town for supplies and meals as cooking within the cottage is very limited. A microwave toaster and elec. skillet is it... so no gourmet cooking. The bed is comfy but I would describe the...
