This was a delightful surprise - a friendly, quiet backpackers on the outskirts of Picton. The hostess treated us to homemade bread in the morning, and went out of her way to help us plan the next leg of our journey. The kitchen is clean and spacious, and the living room features a small library and large bay windows. There... More

I've stayed at Bayview Backpackers twice now, its an amazing hostel just outside Picton with free sea-kayaking and bikes to get around on. Really enjoyed kayaking around the Marlborough sounds, opposite the hostel. Peaceful chilled-out atmosphere and really friendly owner Steph. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

Bayview is a slightly out-of-the-way hostel, being in waikawa bay rather than Picton itself, but I was after some peace and quiet. The hostel owner is a very friendly and helpful woman, she can sort out any activities you want. The kitchen and living room are spacious and being on the first floor, they have great views right across the... More
