We stayed at the Tombstone before and after walking the Queen Charlotte Track. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners of Tombstone - our double room was clean and quiet and the pickup and delivery back to the ferry terminal was great. The scones for breakfast were a highlight as was the soak in the spa pool following our...

We decided to stay at Tombstone Backpackers as the last overnight leg of the journey after completing the Queen Charlotte Track and weren't expecting much at all. This place has it all - free wifi, comfortable beds (we were in a 6 bed dorm and out like a light), spa pool (yes you read this right) table tennis and pool...

The hostel is in a nice place, just top of a small hill only 1 minutes walk from Blubridge ferry check in terminal with fruit trees like apple, citrus etc around. They have everything you need and few extras(gym, pool, table tennis, free bycycle & a bar). The owners are very nice people & keep very keen eyes on every...

Hoping over to the South Island for a 2 night girls weekend visit, we had the best time with a lot of credit going to tombstone. They organised our wine tour, visit to lochmara lodge and gave us rides to the places we needed. Their facilities were outstanding and the owners had a great presence. I will DEFINITELY be recommending!!!!!

Busy, very friendly place with plenty of space and facilities including hot tub, table tennis and free hot scones and toast for breakfast. They also very kindly gave us a lift to the ferry in the morning as the van was available. Walkable to town for food (recommend Le Cafe who go out of their way to cater to all tastes...

We stayed in a double ensuite for one night. The room was very clean, modern and quiet. With the towels on the bed it looked rather like a hotel. However, the room was pretty small. Basically a bed with a bit of walking space around it. But we had tiny balcony, which was nice in the evening. The Tombstone theme...

This place is conveniently located close to town and both ferries, and they will pick you up and drop you off on request. The staff were very welcoming. They offered free coffee and tea with milk all day long and homemade scones for breakfast. There was plenty of space for hanging out in different areas, dining room, lounge, games room,...

This place is popular in an otherwise dull town. I think most people that stay in Picton for more than one day are wasting their time in NZ. Common areas are very varied and excellent. Kitchen is not the biggest and you are not allowed to cook after 10 despite the area still being open. I suppose my biggest gripe...

Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided at all times of the day and evening, unfortunately we have to sleep and feel unsupervised cooking after 10.00pm is the best way to ensure the safety of our guests... like most hostels and campgrounds. Picton is an adventure playground, with kayaking, dolphin watching, famous Marlborough vineyards, Queen Charlotte track, local walks, beaches...

Only stayed for one night but would have loved to have stayed for longer. I took in the Bluebridge ferry and found that that tombstone was only a few minutes away walking. Place is not too far from town it's about a ten minute walk into central Picton. It was a warm welcome from Nikki. Tombstone has quite a homely...

Lovely hostel, with the comfiest beds I have come across in any hostel ever! We stayed for one night after getting the ferry over, there was a transfer waiting for us with a very friendly driver who then checked us in and showed us around. Fast free wifi, great facilities - free pool, table tennis, gym machines, hot tub... I...
