This place is currently listed as a "Hotel". This it definitely is NOT. It is a typical Backpackers' Lodge with a variety of room types -- dorm to private. The kitchen is well appointed and maintained. Good refrigeration and freezer units. The bedroom we had was small, but clean, with a private bathroom/toilet. Adequate parking on site.

The only place not booked out so took a gamble on it. Noisy due to the young clientele and WiFi only in the common area. Everyone was reasonably well behaved. The double room with enswuite was small but tidy and the price was reasonable.

We spent two nights at Sequoia in a double room with an ensuite bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff got us checked-in quickly. It is a quirky hostel - they offer some interesting freebies such as free old-style wood hot tub (sign-up in 30-minute increments) and rides to the ferry to North Island. They serve a daily chocolate pudding and ice...

Nice family run operation they are so nice and friendly. Tried to make you feel like at home even made desserts. Pick up from terminal and very friendly staff. Definitely would recommend and if want to stay longer if opportunities available can volunteer.

We just came back from an awful hostel in Nelson with lots of coolios where the people were so young and immature that they thought they have to talk over people, sing loudly and scream. Coming to the sequoia lodge felt like a holiday. People were so nice and chilled. The kitchen and bedroom were clean and the people working...

This hostel is so chilled out, with hammocks and chairs in the sun. The dorms are very clean and comfortable, with little shelves by the beds which is really handy. There's free chocolate pudding in the evening, I didn't try but my friend did and the consensus was good. Kitchen is big and lots of dining space. There's a free...

Located an easy and stunning 10-minute walk from the ferry bus terminal, we were blown away by how inviting and cozy Sequoia Lodge was. Originally chosen for the good value on a private double room ($74/night) and the spa tub out back, we found ourselves thrilled with the atmosphere and service and only wished we had more time there. The...

Moldy and dusty rooms in a quite cramped holiday park. At least there was rooms with own toilet. The park was located in the center of the little town so it was easy to find. The staff was nice and helpfull but it's not enough to make the place comfortable.

Hi.. Firstly, our apologies with regards your poor experience in Picton. We are thinking this review has been mistakenly attributed to us as we are not a holiday park and we are located out of the centre of town. As you can see by our other reviews we pride ourselves on the cleanliness and home comforts provided to our guests...

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night and we were very impressed. Free shuttle bus to and from the ferry. Welcomed to very friendly staff. The room was next to laundry and it was comfortable. Chocolate pudding at 8pm was very nice. Hostel was very clean. Overall a very good stay.

We stayed one night in a family room and could find nothing to fault about this place. The staff were very friendly and really made an effort to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. In fact, I have rarely encountered such wonderful staff. The woman working there the day we arrived delivered some free chocolate fudge to our room to...
