We stayed one night while walking and biking the Queen Charlotte track. The. Portage is just like any other large hotel chain, so if you are looking for something a bit more unique on the track, Portage wont give this to you. However, it is in an absolutely stunning location, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms...

Stayed for a night as part of the queen Charlotte trek. The good - lovely view, kind and pleasant service. Our room( 'keharu suite') was modern and spacious. The bad - it is obvious this hotel need renovation ( looks like it started, but some part of it still looks pretty old) ; food prices were simply outrageous - 22$...

Hello, and thank you for your comments. After we received this feedback a management review of prices enabled the continental breakfast to drop to $18 and the full cooked dropped from $28 to $22. So your comments are appreciated as we attempt to find workable solutions to our remote and pricey location. best regards

Well, its in a very nice location indeed but thats the only good thing about the hotel. It is very far away from civilisation and have to drive for a while on the scenic but very winding road. The hotel room we stayed were very old and tired, and the toilet looks like a very old cruse ship toilet. We...

Can't find a word to express the beauty of the place! Staff, food, accommodation, selections of wine and views are to top of our amazing weekend stay at The Portage Resort Hotel. The meals was fantastic (breakfast and dinners), the staff are so attentive to our needs, from check in to check out. We felt welcome right when we checked...

We came here a couple of years ago and I have to say that the place seemed a bit dated. Nothing, however can take away from the views and the sheer beauty of the place. We went back last month for a night and what a change. The owners are now running the hotel and they have spent seven figures...

My husband and I along with my elderly mother spent 4 days relaxing and taking in the wonderful views. The accommodation couldn't be faulted. The meals were very tasty and good portion sizes. We really appreciated the attention from the management and staff given to my elderly mother (88 years of age). We didn't take advantage of the bush walks...

Stopped here with friends while riding the Queen Charlotte Track. What a fantastic spot. Beautiful view from our room (we were lucky we had a very sunny day). I agree with other reviewers that they have some way to go to making this a spot to return to. While the staff were welcoming and friendly, they seemed disorganised! We enjoyed...

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2014. The location is utterly beautiful. The view from the room was fabulous. The staff was extremely helpful both with routine matters and non-routine matters. The menu was somewhat limited, but the food was very good.

Stayed nearby with friends. Came here for a bite and drinks. Extremely limited choice. Beer choice very poor. Food ok and reasonable price. However despite an attempt at a refresh very dated. Living off past glories. But people are much more discerning now. Need to lift game. Also no Wi Fi. What is that about. There are better places
