We found the staff at this motel really friendly and helpful . Rooms small but modern stylish and mainly everything you need . Only improvement could be some small chest of drawers . Wardrobe and hangers but all other clothes had to stay in suitcase . Owners really helpful about Picton. Friendly and welcoming . I would recommend staying here

Typically welcoming Kiwis, and immaculate accommodation. Recommend any time. It's in the centre of the town and convenient for the ferry and to have a bite to eat. Good value. We shall be back the next time we are able to come from the other side of the world...

We stayed here 2 nights. Our experience was terrific from the start. Trent and his wife were very friendly, fun and extremely helpful. The room was clean, comfy bed, tea coffee. Perfectly fine. Couldn't beat the location!! Walk everywhere. Their suggestion for dinner was spot on! Go to The Barn, just 3 doors down. Best roast lamb in our lives!!...

Booked for 2 nights either side of walking the Queen Charlotte Track, HQ only 5 mins walk away so very handy. First night was in a King studio, as booked, very spacious with full kitchen and the most comfortable bed we have found in a motel. But, after being told in a rather officious way, not to cook curry or...

Great location - right on the main street. Rooms were just fine - spacious and with all amenities. Motel has a BBQ area which was perfect for cooking Christmas dinner. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an easy, friendly and convenient place to stay! Only issue was paying for laundry - but not a big deal.

As with most accom' in NZ it's predominantly MOTEL not Hotel...so you're not going to get 'The Ritz'...you want 5star stay in the city. That said, this place was a great little discovery - bang in the centre of a bustling little town (plenty of pubs and foodie places to pig out at); it was clean and spacious; a very...

The hotel has a great location, right in the middle of things. The room feels a bit closed off with only the front having windows, and a small window in the bathroom. The room was nice enough and was clean. The reason I didn't give it a 4 was because we had a very loud party going in a neighboring...

I have stayed at the Gateway hotel multiple times and it is consistently great, from the moment you arrive. Kent is fantastic, very kind and friendly. The wifi is excellent and uncomplicated, non of those signing in complications, just connect and put in a simple password. The room was excellent, very clean and had everything we needed. Also it is...

Great motel for an overnighter while heading either down south or up north we were in a room upstairs and did think it could get noisy being on the road front but wasn't at all. We were three sharing a room and we weren't crammed in. The only issue was the bathroom door was on a roller and it was...
