Arrived in Picton and happened upon Gateway Motel as it's on the main road. Luckily they had one vacancy and we took it for the one night prior to getting the ferry to the north Island the next day. Kent could not do enough for us. We mentioned tripadvisor reviews and the only downside seemed to be the wi-fi provision....

Very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners were really helpful. They provided us with information on local attractions and dining options and showed us to our room to check we were happy with it (that is so much better than just being given a room number). It was a well maintained property, and in an...

Easy to find. Well located from the ferry. Very friendly owners. We had a 'family' room with a queen, and separate bedroom with two singles. Comfortable beds and well appointed rooms. Self-catering facilities were good and the wifi worked. Good value for money.

A well-maintained motel in the main street of town, close to shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and large, with lots of usable space for luggage. The motel's owners were also friendly and helpful. We reported a minor maintenance issue in the bathroom on checking out and the owners were responsive and attentive to our needs. Would return if...

On check in the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great room - everything very tidy and all amenities available for our needs. This is right in the centre of town with proximity to ferry and shops. From the brewer from Perth.

From the first step into the reception and the friendly greeting from the host, our stay in this very reasonably price motel was a good experience. The bare minimum was provided which you expect in any motel. The furniture was modern and comfortable. The title says it all! Value for money!
