We checked in late, the gentlemen at the front desk was beyond friendly and helpful. We were hooked up with a beautiful room. The bed was beyond comfortable. They helped us book our fairy and even got us a discounted rate! Excellent stay, would not hesitate to do it again when back in the area!

Beautifully presented motel. Cosy, with a lot of little 'extras' tucked away inside. Very friendly owners. Great value for the money. Very handy to the ferry terminal. Really have to recommend this place.

We stayed here one night before taking the ferry to Wellington. The motel is conveniently located within walking distance of the ferry terminal or a three-minute drive, and in the centre of the (very) small town. There's no view - we looked onto the car park - but the room was comfortable, there was a good-sized bathroom with shower, the...

Clean, tidy, friendly and extremely handy if your arriving into Picton late in the day or leaving early the next morning...........BUT........the rooms are paper thin and if you are getting up early the next morning I guess you need to be made aware you will hear other guests through the night (as they will hear you if your up early...

We stayed here for the night before we caught the ferry to Wellington. Decent sized rooms, but the breeze block walls made it feel a bit like a prison cell. That said, it was perfect for what we needed and the staff were really helpful and courteous.

We stayed at the Gateway Motel after traveling from Wellington to Picton. The hotel is a short 7 minute stroll from the ferry terminal and the train station. It is on the main street and you can't miss it. Although this is a 1950's motel, it has been upgraded to provide very nice facilities for the traveler. Kent and Marie...

Perfect location as was right in town and close to ferry terminal. Bed comfortable and room very clean and quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Our motorbike was parked under cover and out of the way. Would definitely stay at the Gateway Motel again :-)

We came with a group of 8 people, booking was very easy and good recommendations for choosing right rooms. Excellent source of information for "insider" tips, eg where to buy groceries before staring on the Queen Charlotte Track, where to get track passes, free shuttle pick up from ferry. Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and spacious, good bathroom...

Good shower. Additional bed in common room. Very clean, kitchenette well stocked. Rooms got cleaned and restocked daily! Despite central location quiet...

Stayed in this hotel twice for a night. Both times as an overnight for the ferry to Wellington for the following day. Our room was clean, good bed and linens, Ken the owner/manager? was very helpful and accommodating. The two chairs and table our room were great for relaxing and getting a little sun. There is an on-site self-laundry as...
