Nice management, perfect location. Near city center and harbour. Everything for a perfect stay. We were sorry to leave so soon. Leave our car in Picton and went to Wellington. The hotel offered a free ride to the boat and gave some good tips.

Had a great night here. The unit was clean and tidy. The hosts were friendly, very helpful and obliging. The person on the information desk was extremely helpful and the advise to stop at the seal colony prior to Kiakoura was especially worthwhile. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a pleasurable stay in Picton.

Most motels are the same. This is excellent. Friendly people and nothing is too much trouble. Clean, lots of milk in fridge, breakfasts available, packed lunches available, will wait around when you are late to check in and I will never stay anywhere else in Picton.

My wife and I were recently driving through Picton and we found the Gateway Motel (we had also stopped in Picton 12mths earlier on a cruise and we had decided then that we wanted to go back for another visit). The Gateway Motel was right in the middle of town, close to cafe's, shops, and the beautiful little marina. Marie...

We stayed in a ground floor queen studio apartment for two nights. The welcome we received was warm and very genuine - Kent and Marie couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are exceptionally clean and in an excellent location right in the middle of town with a host of cafes, restaurants and bars close by so there's no need...

We only had one night to appreciate the friendly services of the hosts at the Gateway before heading off sightseeing...We were welcomed with a smile and shown our room personally. The room was comfortable and especially large since we were given an upgrade! The recommendations given to us by the hosts for dinner were spot on and we had a...
